Building stronger communities and empowering our youth through sports!
Since its establishment in 2018, the Portmore-based mixed martial arts club, Fit Like A Fighter, has been transforming the lives of young people by creating a safe and positive environment where discipline, confidence, respect, and life skills are developed through martial arts and mentorship.
The club recently paid a courtesy call on the Mayor to express appreciation for his sponsorship support towards the team’s participation in an international competition, where one of their young athletes proudly captured a trophy for Jamaica!
Their athletes continue to excel both locally and internationally, earning numerous medals and making Portmore proud every step of the way.
As a Municipality, we remain committed to community building, youth development, and supporting programmes that use sports as a powerful tool to inspire, uplift, and create opportunities for our young people.
The FREE programme, located on the 3rd Floor of Renaissance Plaza in Greater Portmore, welcomes applicants between the ages of 12–21 years and has also partnered with several schools across Portmore to positively impact the next generation.
