Beat the Heat. Protect Your Health. β˜€οΈπŸ’§

The hot weather can increase your risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, so it is important to know the warning signs and take the necessary steps to stay safe.

Watch out for:

* Unusual tiredness
* Dehydration
* Nausea or vomiting
* Muscle cramps

While anyone can be affected, extra care should be taken with children, older adults, pregnant women, and people who work outdoors.

Here are some simple ways to protect yourself:

* Wear light, loose-fitting clothing.
* Drink water regularly. Don’t wait until you are thirsty.
* Take breaks in cool, shaded areas.
* Wear sunscreen when outdoors.

If someone becomes unconscious, seek emergency medical care immediately.

A few simple steps can help you stay safe and healthy during the heat. Share this information with someone who may need it. πŸ’™

Percy Junor Hospital, and by extension the Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), has received more than $60 million JMD, in medical equipment and supplies through its partnership with Right Now for Jamaica.

Four containers of essential medical and patient care supplies were mobilised, including specialised emergency beds with built-in connections for patient monitoring, mattresses, IV poles, recliners, tables and other vital equipment.

The support will help Percy Junor Hospital strengthen the quality of care provided to patients while improving access to essential healthcare services.

SRHA extends sincere appreciation to Right Now for Jamaica for turning its commitment into action and investing in stronger healthcare for the communities we serve. ❀️

They are not just knocking on your door, they are helping to protect your community.

When Vector Control Officers visit your home or business, remember that their work is about finding and eliminating mosquito breeding sites before they become a bigger problem.

Let’s take action together and build mosquito-resilient communities.
