Cockburn Gardens Primary and Junior High School is READY for the Start of the New School Year!

Teachers at the institution participated in a detailed 3 hour workshop on the use of the smartboard in preparation for the start of the new school year.

The teachers exuded excitement and have vowed to increase their use of the technology provided in their lessons this school year.

Workshops like these cover pillars 3 and 6 of the MOESYI's TREND programme which speak to Curriculum, Teaching & Teacher Training, as well as, Infrastructure and Technology.

e-Learning Jamaica Company Limited is proud to have supported the recently held Manpower and Maintenance Service's 27th Annual PEP Awards Ceremony.

For 27 years, Manpower has recognized the children of its members of staff from all across the island who have graduated from primary to secondary school with an awards ceremony.

As an agency that firmly believes in providing opportunities for the nation's students to become tech-savvy global citizens, e-Learning Jamaica supported this year's ceremony by providing tablets to ten of the graduates to aid in their schooling.

Ready, Set, Code!

Today we took another massive step in our preparation for the new school year with a Micro:Bit Train the Trainers Workshop that was held at The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information, the British Council and the National Education Trust, we are ensuring that our teachers fully understand the micro:bits functions and are comfortable enough to integrate it in their lessons this school year.

As micro:bits are being distributed to schools islandwide, we are making sure our team is ready to support it's effective use in the classroom.

Members of e-Learning Jamaica Company Limited, the National Education Trust, the British Council and the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information recently met for a one-day workshop focused on the effective use of the micro:bit as part of the STEAM in Education Project.

The workshop was designed to strengthen the knowledge and practical skills of attendees in order to pass this knowledge on to teachers for their integration in the teaching-learning process.
