| Custos Lennox Anderson-Jackson recently represented Jamaica at the 70th Annual Health Research Conference hosted by the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) in Georgetown, Guyana, from April 22–24, where he presented his research paper entitled “The Prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome and Examination of the Iron Profile of Patients with Localised Prostate Cancer.”

His participation highlighted the important role Custodes continue to play not only in civic leadership but also in advancing research, knowledge-sharing, and regional collaboration in public health.

The interaction formed part of the Clinic’s ongoing efforts to provide holistic care and support to young mothers facing complex social and economic challenges. Through warm conversation and thoughtful reflection, Her Excellency shared words of hope and reassurance as the young women prepare for motherhood.

The visit also highlighted the continued commitment of the Clinic’s team, whose compassionate care continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of both mothers and their babies.

We honour the quiet strength, love, and the guiding influence of mothers across Jamaica. Motherhood is expressed in many forms through sacrifice, nurture, wisdom, and steadfast support. Mothers shape homes, mould character, and help to build the very foundation of our nation through the values they instil in their children each day.

On this Mother’s Day, His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen, Governor-General of Jamaica, extends heartfelt appreciation to all mothers and caregivers whose devotion continues to inspire hope, resilience, and purpose in families and communities across the island.

Happy Mother’s Day!
