On Thursday, 3 September 2026, His Excellency the Most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen, Governor-General of Jamaica, received the Letters of Credence of three (3) newly accredited Ambassadors during a Presentation of Credentials ceremony at King’s House.

In extending a warm welcome to the Ambassadors, Sir Patrick Allen highlighted the importance of strengthening diplomatic relations, fostering meaningful cooperation, and deepening engagement between Jamaica and their respective countries.

The Ambassadors were:

🇮🇹 His Excellency Marco Peronaci, Ambassador of the Italian Republic

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen attended the Service of Installation and Consecration for the newly elected administration of the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (CJC).

Held at the Family of God Seventh-day Adventist Church under the theme, “I Will Go: Living the Mission,” the service marked the beginning of a new quadrennium of leadership for the period 2026–2030. Under the leadership of President, Pastor Nevail Barrett, the newly installed team will guide the work and mission of the conference during the next four years, continuing to serve its members and communities through ministry, evangelism and Christian service.

His Excellency joined church leaders, members and well-wishers in offering congratulations to the new administration as they embark on this important period of service.

Their Excellencies Sir Patrick Allen and Lady Allen attended the 80th Anniversary Commemorative Church Service of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA), Jamaica 580 Branch, held at the Garrison Church of the Ascension on Sunday, 16 August 2026.

As part of the commemorative service, His Excellency laid a wreath in honour of the men and women of RAFA Jamaica 580 Branch who served with distinction and contributed to the welfare and support of veterans and their dependants over the past eight decades.

The occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the enduring values of service, sacrifice, duty, and camaraderie, while honouring the legacy of those who have gone before and recognising the continued contribution of the Branch to Jamaica’s military and veteran community.

On Wednesday, 5 August 2026, His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen, Governor-General of Jamaica, swore in two distinguished individuals as Directors of the Integrity Commission during a ceremony held at King’s House.

In his remarks, His Excellency extended his best wishes to the appointees, expressing confidence in their abilities and commending their integrity, discretion and commitment to serving the people of Jamaica with honour and excellence.

The Directors sworn in were:

•Ms Kelly-Ann Alicia Murdock: Director of Corruption Prosecution

•Mrs Sashein Latoya Wright-Chin: Director responsible for the functions of Corruption Prevention, Stakeholder Engagement and Anti-Corruption Strategy

Their Excellencies Sir Patrick Allen and Lady Allen attended the Change of Command Ceremony of the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force (JCCF) on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, at the Caribbean Military Academy Auditorium, Up Park Camp.

The ceremony marked the formal handover of command from Brigadier the Honourable Errol V. Johnson, CD, BH(M), JP, CCM, who served as Commandant for nearly a decade, to Colonel Nicholas V. Taylor, JP, CCM, the incoming Commandant.

Colonel Taylor brings more than 34 years of dedicated service to the JCCF, having risen through the ranks from Sergeant to Colonel and served in several key command appointments. As Colonel Taylor assumes command, the Governor-General commends Brigadier Johnson for his years of dedicated leadership and service to the JCCF and extends best wishes to Colonel Taylor as he undertakes this new responsibility.

Their Excellencies Sir Patrick Allen, Governor-General of Jamaica, and Lady Allen arrived at the National Stadium for the 2026 Grand Gala, joining the nation in celebrating Jamaica’s 64th Anniversary of Independence. Upon arrival, His Excellency received the Royal Salute and Guard of Honour, before participating in the Flag Raising Ceremony.

This year’s Independence theme, “United in Celebrating Resilience,” honours the strength, perseverance and unity of the Jamaican people as we reflect on our journey as a nation and look towards the future.

Their Excellencies hosted a State Dinner at King’s House in honour of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, during his State Visit to Jamaica. The evening brought together members of the Government of Jamaica, public officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps, the Ghanaian delegation, and other specially invited guests.

Inspired by the colours of both nations, the décor and menu reflected an expression of heritage and pride, honouring the richness of Ghanaian culture, the vibrancy of Jamaican identity, and the historical connections that unite the two countries. The State Dinner reaffirmed the strong diplomatic ties between Jamaica and Ghana while celebrating a partnership rooted in mutual respect and a vision for continued collaboration.
