Jamaica Teaching Council Page As a service-driven Agency, we promote a quality customer service ethos underpinned by a culture of excellence, love, service, and integrity.

The Jamaica Teaching Council (JTC), established September, 2008 under the Education System Transformation Programme is a response to the Task Force on Educational Reform Report (2004). Our Mandate is to: (a) regulate the profession, (b) support and oversee professional development, c) advocate for and promote the teaching profession as a profession of choice, and (d) provide information driven adv

isory services. JTC undertakes assignments permitted under the Education Regulations (1980) and under the authorization of the Permanent Secretary.
