Jamaica is the place to do business on a global scale, and JAMPRO – the national investment and export promotion agency - an agency of the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, is the gateway that connects the world to Jamaica. As we continue to mark National Exporters Month, we’re highlighting Jamaican businesses responding to growing international demand.

“We’re seeing strong interest from international buyers.”

Martella Melville, founder and CEO of Jah-Jireh Herbal Limited, is a returning participant in Export Max Cohort IV, having previously engaged in the programme.

This continued participation reflects an important reality: export development is not a one-time milestone, but an ongoing process. With a portfolio of over 30 health and wellness products targeting non-communicable diseases, Jah-Jireh Herbal is building on increasing international interest while refining its readiness to meet that demand.

Export Max supports this progression by providing continued access to buyers, market insights and export-facing opportunities. For companies like Jah-Jireh Herbal, the value lies not only in initial exposure, but in sustained engagement as they scale and adapt to global market requirements.

During Exporters Month, we recognise businesses that are staying engaged, evolving and positioning for long-term export growth.

JAMPRO’s Non-Food and Extractive Exports team recently hosted buyers from Trinidad & Tobago and the Turks and Caicos Islands following connections made during the 2025 Turks & Caicos Islands mission.

The inward mission created opportunities for Jamaican companies in aggregates, roofing, interior solutions and building materials to engage directly with regional buyers exploring future partnerships and sourcing opportunities.

“We’re learning from others who have already started exporting.”

Akhil Dixon, Operations Manager at Halt by Hewitt, is a participant in Export Max Cohort IV, where the value of the programme extends beyond training sessions into shared, real-world experience.

As a contemporary furniture manufacturer, Halt by Hewitt is leveraging the programme not only to connect with buyers, but to learn directly from other businesses that are already exporting. This peer-to-peer exchange is often overlooked, but it plays a key role in helping companies avoid common pitfalls, refine their strategies, and make more informed decisions as they scale.

Export readiness is not built in isolation. It is shaped through exposure, shared knowledge, and practical insight. Export Max creates that environment, allowing Jamaican manufacturers to strengthen both their capabilities and their confidence as they prepare for international markets.

As we continue to mark National Exporters Month, we’re spotlighting Jamaican companies refining how they compete in global markets.

“We want that global reach without spending huge sums on marketing.”

Carita Jamaica Limited, a long-standing exporter of Jamaican produce, is part of Export Max Cohort IV with a clear focus on scaling its international presence more efficiently.

With over 30 years in operation, the company already has experience in export markets. However, participation in the programme highlights a common challenge, even for established exporters: expanding reach without significantly increasing marketing spend.

Through Export Max, Carita has been exposed to digital marketing strategies that provide more scalable and cost-effective ways to connect with global buyers.

As global trade becomes more competitive, strong products alone are not enough. Companies must pair product strength with smarter market access strategies. Export Max supports this shift by equipping businesses with the tools to modernise how they engage international markets.

During Exporters Month, we recognise companies like Carita that are adapting, evolving and positioning for sustained global growth.
