On August 28, Councillor Rohan Davidson and I met with a team from the Jamaica Fire Brigade led by Commissioner Stewart Beckford along with representatives from the St. Ann Municipal Corporation to conduct a site visit of the proposed location for the Alexandria fire station.
This is an important step towards improving our emergency response as we continue to work to ensure that residents across our communities have greater access to fire and rescue services.

The Government of Jamaica has recently launched a $45-billion major road rehabilitation initiative under the SPARK Programme. This transformative investment is aimed at improving road infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, reducing travel times, increasing road safety, and creating stronger economic opportunities for communities across the island.

The Government is listening and responding to its citizens by rolling out this investment, and South West St. Ann will not be left behind, as two of our worst corridors have been included for rehabilitation:

📍 Cave Valley to Spauldings Roadway
📍 Brown’s Town to St. Stewart Town Road

We are grateful for this investment, and residents can look forward to better days ahead as they travel on safer, better, and more reliable roads.

To all the dads across St. Ann South Western and beyond, thank you for the countless ways you show up every day, providing, protecting, teaching, and inspiring the next generation.

💧 A New Chapter for Stepney 💧

Today we broke ground for the new Stepney Rainwater Catchment Tank, a major investment that will bring much-needed water security to more than 1,100 residents in Stepney and surrounding communities.

This $140 million project, represents more than concrete and pipes, it represents relief for households, support for families, improved public health, and a stronger, more resilient future for our communities.

I extend sincere thanks to the Government of Jamaica, the Ministry of Water, Environment and Climate Change, Minister Matthew Samuda, Rural Water Supply Limited, and all stakeholders who worked to make this project possible.
