What do you think of our hallway light?

Piano piano it's all coming together now 😊

This is what we look like when we are renovating 😅 Andrew is always half naked but now that the days are getting cooler his top will be back on again. In case you're interested in copying my stylish outfit, it is a pair of rolled up old karate pants from Decathlon and a sleeveless t-shirt from Primark. You, too, can complete this look with a touch of dust or a splash of paint!

Still so much to do inside the palazzo and outside in the garden, and to be honest, it will probably be a never-ending story. Saving an historic building where the oldest part is 1,200 years old and the newest 500 years old is a huge task but we are up for the challenge 💪

Saluti a tutti!

Step by step one of our four bedrooms is coming together.
We love these lampshades, however, we are going to get some bigger and more stylish bulbs for them. What do you think of them?

A quick fix here and there and hopefully it all blends in and nobody will notice 😊 Except, obviously we've pointed out these two fixes but there certainly are many more.

Sometimes, it all just gets too much, and you need a change of scenery. But what beautiful scenery we can change to from the already beautiful scenery of San Benedetto in Perillis and Palazzo San Benedetto. Check out our latest video on our channel.

Andrew said we were going shopping too, although it turned out it wasn't quite the shopping I had in mind.

All in all, a good day out and a very much needed break from the long days of renovating. Now, back to work!

The four-poster bed in pictures. We are loving it!

Just a few items required to complete the room: bedside tables, chairs, paintings/prints,chest of drawers and a scroll-armed little bench for sitting on at the end of the bed to enjoy the view of the Sirente Velino.

The four-poster bed is complete, and the room is starting to take shape. We still need two bedside tables to match the bed, 2 night lights, a mirror, some beautiful prints/paintings, a scroll-armed bench for at the end of the bed, a couple of chairs, a small desk/make up table and a chest of drawers.
That's the fun part, though, and that can wait until our finances improve.
We are just so glad the hard part is over; the wiring, the dust, the dirt, the mess, the painting, cleaning the cement and dirt off the tiles, varnishing the tiles oh and definitely not forgetting the disastrous plumbing installation of our beautiful radiator and the stress of it leaking just a few weeks ago after only gently touching it as the plumber who installed it did not listen to Andrew as to how it should be done and did not even respond to our request to come back and fix it. Water everywhere, not stopping.💦💧 Just one of at least 8 leaks encountered from his work, although luckily those other leaks came to light during the renovation works so had to be rectified there and then. Still, we have now found the best plumber to use going forward from Popoli who did listen to Andrew and did the job as it should have been done in the first place and have just had to suck up the cost for stopping the leak due to a bad job done which we had already paid for. Just what we need when we are struggling financially 😒. Oh, and also the original plumber used toothed grips without any cover on the decorative valve without even thinking of putting a cloth in between and guess what, you can quite visibly see the damage that caused. So gutting 😢 We would like to point out though that this was not due to our building company who we would always highly recommend but rather a separate plumbing contractor.
But the struggle is over, and we will try and forget about the disasters as we are so delighted about this room and are ready to move on and complete all the other rooms now to live in. Won't be too much longer now before we can move in! 🥳
