For three years, the magnitude of the twins' abilities have been the whispers lingering the Volturi palace halls. Many of those that roamed the palace had yet to see the marvel that surrounded the youngest additions to the coven.
Lord Aro insisted that the lords and ladies of the palace maintained the secrecy of the twins' gifts until a precise time presented itself. Thus, the twins' gifts have remained a mystery to all but a select few.
Jane and Alec were no strangers to whispers and glances when they would enter a room since they had been subjected to it ever since their early years. It was a scenario that no longer plagued the twins following their transformation, as they embraced the prestige that came with being two of Lord Aro's most prized possessions.
However, not everyone in the palace believed the whispers of Jane and Alec's force. Others questioned the might of their gifts, especially since the twins were quite young. Despite it all, Jane did not feel the need to display her strength. She knew that her time would come.
Elizabeth, one of the guards that had been serving the Volturi for close to 5 years then, grew resentful of the twins. She had the ability to weaken others when her palm comes in contact with them, so she was rendered useless when Lord Aro discovered the twins.
Jane paid no mind to her, knowing she was superior to the brunette. However, Elizabeth chose to play with fire when she began to spread rumors in the palace that the twins' abilities were exaggerated and that they were being "protected" from the frontlines rather than being preserved as they were made to believe.

Jane and Alec were a few feet away from Elizabeth and her flock when she overheard the brunette belittling her in the main halls.
"๐ ๐ด๐ข๐ธ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ฃ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ค๐ฉ ๐ง๐ฆ๐ต๐ค๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ฃ๐บ ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ ๐ต๐ธ๐ช๐ฏ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ค๐ฉ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ญ๐ช๐ฆ๐ณ. ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐บ ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ด๐ต ๐ฃ๐ฆ ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฅ๐ด' ๐ด๐ต๐ถ๐ฅ๐บ ๐ข๐จ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ, ๐ ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ด๐ถ๐ฎ๐ฆ." the brunette said with a tone filled with distaste as she rolled her eyes.
Jane's crimson red orbs darkened into a dark scarlet, her hands curling into a fist as she eavesdropped on the comments made by Elizabeth.
"๐๐ช๐ด๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ." Alec whispered as he placed his hand over her small shoulder, attempting to comfort his twin as he knew her restraint was thinning.
"๐๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฅ ๐๐ณ๐ฐ ๐ช๐ด ๐ญ๐ช๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ญ๐บ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ช๐ต๐ต๐ญ๐ฆ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ค๐ฉ ๐ข๐จ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ." Elizabeth expressed with a mocking tone as she laughed.
The petite blonde swiftly shoved Elizabeth away from her flock, hissing at her. In an attempt to weaken Jane, Elizabeth raised her hand to grab her. Jane promptly caught Elizabeth by the wrist, her lips curving into a smirk as she looked into the brunette's eyes.
"๐๐ข๐ช๐ฏ." she uttered, as she induced excruciating pain at Elizabeth. And without delay, Elizabeth's eyes rolled back as she was physically falling onto her knees, screaming in pain.
The room fell silent as many of the guards gazed at the two while the event was unfolding.
"๐๐ข๐ญ๐ญ ๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐ข ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ค๐ฉ ๐ข๐จ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ." she sneered as she grabbed Elizabeth by the neck โ digging her nails into the brunette's neck as it slowly began to visibly crack.
You could hear from Elizabeth's escalated screams that the young blonde intensified the pain that she was inducing, as the echo of it became louder.
Low, choking sounds were audible as Jane dug her nails deeper into Elizabeth's cracking neck. Her eyes reflected a sense of self-satisfaction as she watched Elizabeth shrieking in pain.
"๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ฆ."
The blonde's eyes shifted its gaze as she turned to her creator, standing a foot away with a fixed look on his face.
Her smirk transitioned itself into a blank expression as she addressed him with an almost innocent tone. "๐๐ข๐ด๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ?"
"๐๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ถ๐จ๐ฉ ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐ต๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ข๐บ." he spoke firmly as he looked at her.
In an instant, Jane released the hold that she had of the brunette's neck and ceased inducing pain.
The brunette fell onto the ground, almost lifeless, as the cracking on her neck began to heal itself.
"๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ." He stated as he briefly glanced at Alec before shifting his eyes back to her. Both Jane and Alec followed behind as Lord Aro began to walk.
"๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ฆ ๐ค๐ข๐ณ๐ฆ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ต๐ฉ๐ข๐ต." he declared, commanding the rest of the guards in the hall, as the three strolled away from the main hall.
