INCREASED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH LOWER RISK OF 13 TYPES OF CANCER

A new study of the relationship between physical activity and cancer has shown grater levels of leisure time physical activity with a lower risk of 13 types cancer. The risk was more than 20 percent lower. These was found from researchers at the NCI part of NIH and American Cancer Society, confirm the evidence for the benefit of physical activity on cancer risk and support its role for cancer prevention.

HAVING MORE CHILDREN SLOW DOWN CELLULAR AGING PROCESS
Researchers indicates that the number of children born to a woman influences the rate at which her body ages.
The stydy assessed the number of children to 75 women from two neighbouring indigenous rural communities and their telomer length.telomers are the protectiv tips found at each DNA strand and are indicative of cellular aging.Longer telomers are integral to cell replication and are associated with longevity.

The particants telomer length were measured at two time points 13 years apart throwgh salivary specimens.there is a direct association between the number os children and telomere shortening in humans over time.
The slower pace of telomere shortening found in the study by Simon Fraster University may be attributed to the dramatic increase in estrogen during pragnancy.

RESEARCHERS DISCOVER THREE GLAUCOMA RELATED GENES

Glaucoma is a group of conditions that damage the optic nerve the bundle of nerve fibers connecting the eye to the brain.
The researchers compered the DNA of 3853 people of European with primary open angle glaucoma to a similar group 33480 people without it.Data for the analysis came from eight data sets by members of neighborhood consortium .
Scientist had already identified an association between FOXC1 and glaucoma. Also TXNRD2 gene makes an enzyme that protects mitochondria against stress.
For years scientists have suspected that oxidative stress might contribute to the degeneration of optic nerve.
Little is known about the normal function of ATXN2.
Mutation of gene are implicated in disorder called spinocerebellar ataxia 2.Interestingly ATXN2 is third gene associated with both glaucoma & (ALS).An analysis funded by the National Eye Institute.

RELATION BETWEEN MATERNAL POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME AND AUTISM IN CHILDREN.

The new study is the first report that demonstrates a link between maternal polycystic ovarian syndrome, PCOS, and autism spectrum disorders, ASD, in children. ASD represent a range of neurodevelopmental disorders characterised by impairments in language and social interaction, as well as stereotypic, repetitive behaviors..Androgen's also affect the development of the brain and central nervous system. Since women with PCOS have increased levels of androgens even during pregnancy, the investigators hypothesised that the disorder might affect the risk of ASD in the children. 5-15 per cent of women of child-bearing age are affected by PCOS, making it one of the most common endocrine disorders.
So it is very important to pay attention to polycistic ovarian syndrome
