🇹🇼🤝🌍 台灣與斯卡拉布里尼修會攜手同行，以具體行動支持全球移民、難民與海員
駐教廷大使賀忠義夫婦與全館同仁於本（2026）年9月11日上午赴聖嘉祿傳教會（聖斯卡拉布里尼修會）總會院，賀大使代表台灣政府提供該會支持，雙方透過「斯卡拉布里尼國際移民網絡」（SIMN）及「海員宗會」（Stella Maris）合作在全球為移民、難民、海員及其家庭提供人道援助與牧靈關懷。捐贈儀式由總會長 Fr. Leonir Chiarello 神父主持，該修會會士Cardinal Silvano Tomasi樞機主教及該總會幹部多人在場出席見證。
賀大使致詞表示，今天不只是一場捐贈儀式，更是一個「分享」與「團結互助」的時刻。聖斯卡拉布里尼修會一個多世紀以來持續陪伴移民、難民、海員及所有離開家園、尋求更安全與美好未來的人們。賀大使也分享自己派駐海外不同國家的經驗，對遷徙所面臨的挑戰及需求感同身受。賀大使表示：「家不只是一個地方，更是那些願意接納我們的人」，並説明台灣與教廷及天主教會共享自由、和平、正義、真理及人權共享價值，期盼未來透過類似合作，跨越國界、文化與海洋，讓每一位在人生旅途上遷徙的人，不僅找到保護與機會，更能找到尊嚴、友誼，以及一個真正的家 —一個讓人感受到天堂就在其中的家(a home with a sense of heaven)。❤️ 🏠
總會長Fr. Leonir Chiarello 神父對台灣政府的支持及駐教廷大使館的協助表達誠摯感謝，並強調共同承擔責任、支持移民及所有遷徙中的人們，對推動社會轉型及促進國際和平共處具有重要意義。他並分享，陪伴移民與遷徙中的人群，是聖斯卡拉布里尼修會最重要的神恩與使命之一。目前該會全球🌏設有52所移民之家及移民中心，以及16個海員服務中心，2025年共為超過70萬人提供宗教、社會及人道支持。C總會長感謝本館推動 H.O.P.E.（Humanity, Opportunities, Partnership, Encounter） 理念，並持續透過人性關懷、創造機會、建立夥伴關係與真誠相遇，讓希望轉化為具體行動。

🇹🇼🤝🌍 Taiwan and the Scalabrinians Join Hands to Support Migrants, Refugees and Seafarers Worldwide
On the morning of September 11, 2026, Ambassador Anthony C. Y. Ho and Madam Ho, accompanied by the colleagues from the Embassy of the R.O.C. (Taiwan) to the Holy See, visited the General House of the Missionaries of St. Charles (Scalabrinians). On behalf of the Government of Taiwan, Ambassador Ho presented support to the Congregation for its work through the Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) and Stella Maris, providing humanitarian assistance and pastoral care to migrants, refugees, seafarers and their families around the world.
The handover ceremony was presided over by Fr. Leonir Chiarello, C.S., Superior General of the Scalabrinian Congregation, and witnessed by Cardinal Silvano Tomasi, C.S., a member of the Congregation, together with members of its General Administration.
In his remarks, Ambassador Ho emphasized that the occasion was more than a handover ceremony: it was a moment of “sharing” and, above all, a moment of “solidarity.” For more than a century, the Scalabrinian Congregation has accompanied migrants, refugees, seafarers and all those who leave their homes in search of a safer and better future.
Drawing on his own experience as a career diplomat posted in different countries, Ambassador Ho reflected on the challenges and needs faced by people on the move. “Home is not only a place; it is also the people who welcome us,” he said. He further noted that Taiwan, the Holy See and the Catholic Church share common values of freedom, peace, justice, truth and human rights.
Ambassador Ho expressed the hope that, through partnerships with like-minded collaborators, we can continue to reach across borders, cultures and oceans, so that every person on the move may find not only protection and opportunity, but also dignity, friendship and a true home — “a home with a sense of heaven.” ❤️🏠
Fr. Leonir Chiarello expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government of Taiwan for its support and to the Embassy for facilitating the cooperation. He underscored the importance of sharing responsibility and supporting migrants and all people on the move as a means of advancing social transformation and fostering peaceful coexistence among peoples.
Fr. Chiarello also highlighted that accompanying migrants and people on the move lies at the heart of the Scalabrinian charism and mission. Today, the Congregation operates 52 migrant houses and migration centers worldwide, as well as 16 seafarers’ centers, providing religious, social and humanitarian assistance to more than 700,000 people in 2025.
Fr. Chiarello also expressed appreciation for the Embassy’s promotion of the H.O.P.E. initiative — Humanity, Opportunities, Partnership and Encounter — and for its continued efforts to transform hope into concrete action through compassionate care, the creation of opportunities, strong partnerships and genuine human encounters.
