IPA Floods and Fires partecipated with its stand to the .
It was a good chance to welcome not only IPA Floods and Fires Partners and Consortium members but also to meet visitors to explain the action of the program.

The stand was shared by the program, headed by Dipartimento Protezione Civile with the collaboration of CIMA Research Foundation, which started in April 2023 and will carry on for 36 months, covering some of the risks and topics of .

At the end of May, IPA Floods and Fires organized the final of the program.
The meeting in was an opportunity to take stock of the of all work-packages and to celebrate the of the Partners and the Consortium.
Over the past three and a half years, the EU-funded program has fostered and supported , and created or strengthened the network of flood and fire experts in the Western and through their tireless efforts and participation in workshops, trainings, exercises and exchanges.
In addition to the seven work packages into which IPAFF action was divided, the final event was an opportunity to meet some of the representatives of the program's work in schools in *, and , with the hope of continuing and repeating this successful experience on a larger scale in the future.

We appreciated the contribution from all the national coordinators and the seven work package representatives, as well as DG ECHO, who contributed amicably to the production of the final video.

The city of , in eastern hosted the closing ceremony of the IPA Floods and Fires school activity.
The Turkish school ‘ŞEHİT NURETTİN TÜRKMEN ORTAOKULU’ participated with 3 groups of very young students, who, helped by their teachers, translated their ideas into 3 beautiful works.
The winning project was awarded in a small ceremony attended by fellow students, teachers who guided them throughout the competition, the local coordinators and the national IPAFF coordinator from T.C. İçişleri Bakanlığı Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi Başkanlığı - AFAD, the national agency of civil protection who brought everything together.
The young students of Van proved to be very inventive and have a lot of imagination and we thank them all for their incredible , and the beautiful works they presented.
The winning project was reproduced on a mural outside the school building, to help raise awareness even among the citizens of the town.
We would like also to thank the hosting school, " ŞEHİT NURETTİN TÜRKMEN ORTAOKULU’ of Van and its director, Mr Mehmet Yildiz and the art teachers, Sinan Özdemir,
Harun Barığ and Veysel Batu
Also, we would like to thank Mr Mehmet Sait Pişkin – Director of Van public library and Ms Songül Kaya Örnek, the Department of national education, that participated with Ms Elif Yöruuk Edremit, District Director of National Education , and Mr Regip Türk, Van Acting Director of National Education.
And last, but not least, T.C. İçişleri Bakanlığı Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi Başkanlığı - AFAD for the great coordination of the whole process.

The new generations are the hope for the future, and we are certainly hopeful that this small moment will remain in their memory and bear great fruit, leading the way for future initiatives.

The created for as part of the IPAFF to raise on the of was finalized in the beautiful scenery of the of , a village in the heart of .
The winning project was awarded in a small ceremony attended by fellow students, the art teacher who guided them throughout the competition, the local coordinators and representatives from EMA, the national agency of civil protection who brought everything together.
Once more we were surprised to see how developed the sense of risks and response to be taken are in young students, and how their inventiveness and imagination worked so well.
We thank them all for their incredible , and the beautiful work they presented.
The winning project will be reproduced on a mural visible in centre of Vushtrri, to help raise awareness even among the citizens of the town.

We would like also to thank the hosting school, "Andon Zako Çajupi" Vushtrr, and its director.

In 2021, as part of the IPA Floods and Fires program, a small was created for to raise of the of .
At the beginning of # 2024, the competition became a reality.
This week, the winning school for the best project in was awarded in a small ceremony attended by teachers and students in the city of .
We were surprised to find girls and boys who were very mature for their age, with such inventiveness, imagination and logical sense.
We thank them all for their incredible , and the beautiful work they presented.
The winning project was also reproduced on a mural visible in the schoolyard.

We would like also to thank the Director of the Rescue and Protection Directorate of Montenegro and the staff which helped organizing the activity and followed every step of it, and also the hosting school, Marko Radevic High Civil engineering, and its director.
It is refreshing to know that the new generations, who certainly have easy access to information but are also bombarded by fake news, have this spirit of , and .

At the end of the for GFFF modules of the IPA Floods and Fires program, which effectively closes Component 2 and also completes the work carried out by the other WPs of the same component, we would like to thank all those who took part to it.
We would like to thank the and of who hosted the exercise in the municipality of , near , APELL, which managed the WP, and the Consortium partners CIMA Research Foundation, and Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap (MSB) (Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency) who, through their punctual and cooperative work, made the running and effec tive.

The activity closing the component 2 of IPA Floods and Fires program is the held from March 19 to March 21 in the village of , Macedonia.
A total of 200 firefighters, trained during the course of this program, have been deployed on the field to play on a scenario that involves ground fires.
The GFFF modules from all the 7 Partners - with an additional module from partner - will work on a joint operation field, share the Base Camp and operate together in a forest area, addressing the protection of civilians and private properties, the environmental , and the safeguard of the cultural heritage.
The exercise has been directed by more than 40 international appointed by the and and hosted by the Protection and Rescue Directorate of North Macedonia.

The regional field exercise represents a great to and , and to gain for the Program and for the efforts of EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid - DG ECHO to empower the program Partners in the Region. T
After a first day on the field, today, a VIP visit, as well as an Observer Program has been organized, to allow high representatives, program officers, and external experts to have a better understanding of such a complex exercise, and to see the teams in action.

In the meantime, injects have been proposed to the teams on the field to test their skills and preparation and carry on with all the activities foreseen by the program.

In the first week of February, IPA Floods and Fires program hosted delegates from the seven in for a concluding of WP 1.1 on . the 3 days in the Italian capital offered the opportunity to explore the Italian case of flood management in its various versions: local, regional and national. The added value of the meetings was represented not only by the contribution of experts from different Italian and international backgrounds, but also by the possibility of discussion tables. In addition to the , there were visits to understand at first hand how flood management systems work in Italian institutions, and interesting urban walks to discover past flood phenomena, ending with a visit to the Castel Giubileo dam (Northern Rome).
We thank those who made all this possible: Dipartimento Protezione Civile; CIMA Research Foundation; Roma Capitale; Ispra - Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale, Autorità di Bacino Distrettuale del Fiume Po; Università Roma Tre; CMCC Climate; Politecnico di Milano Distretto Appennino Settentrionale, Central Apennine District Authority, Enel Green Power; Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW - https://www.bmi.bund.de/) and all the speakers and participants to the event.
