We were delighted to welcome Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, and for Defence Helen Mc Entee to Rome on Monday for a busy programme of official engagements ahead of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, which starts on 1 July 2026 🇮🇪🇪🇺
Minister McEntee exchanged views on current international issues with her Italian counterparts, Minister for Foreign Affairs & Trade Antonio Tajani and Minister for Defence Guido Crosetto.
The Minister also met with Professor Enrico Letta to discuss the “One Europe, One Market” roadmap and Ireland’s priorities for its EU Presidency.
💼Minister McEntee was later joined at the Embassy by senior representatives of Irish Italian businesses, alongside Enterprise Ireland, Turismo Irlandese, Bord Bia - Irish Food Board, and the Irish Business Network in Italy for a roundtable discussion on trade, investment and tourism activities and opportunities.
