I think we can do better for sure ... but Napoli is not dead.

Urban planners and local leaders (do we have these?) need to address the issue of housing for all residents and to recognize that over tourism is not sustainable in the long haul, and certainly does not lead to true socio economic development.

Also, the youth of Napoli deserve better than low paying jobs as tourist guides and bar workers. If govt., the private sector and the public fails to address these intertwined issues, youth will emigrate and all of Italy will become a Netflix set and continue to be strewn with the detritus from tourists and residents who think Mamma is coming to clean up after them.

Let's do something fun & meaningful for youth and artisans shall we?

I would also be curious to know how many Italians are opting for EasyJet/RyanAir travel abroad to avoid the high beach prices in Italia?

Also, what does the AGCM do about this issue given that competition in the marketplace is its purview and many lidi on the same stretch of beach charge more or less the same price: coincidence? And, for those lidi that have apparent monopolies, and may be abusing their dominant positions in the marketplace bullying consumers who use the free, yet ever diminishing (and not due to natural erosion) sliver of public beach.
