The Consulate General of Pakistan in Milan organised a simple but dignified ceremony commemorating the first anniversary of ‘‘Marka-e-Haq’’. The ceremony was attended by members of the Pakistani diaspora in Milan reflecting a strong sense of unity and solidarity.
During the ceremony, messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister were read out on the occasion. The messages paid rich tributes to the brave members of the Armed Forces of Pakistan for their sacrifices that they rendered for the nation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to peace, sovereignty and national resilience.
In his remarks, the Consul General paid rich tributes to the civil military leadership along with special reference to the Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Staff for spearheading the conflict that resulted in the defeat and humiliation for the enemy. The Consul General underscored military professionalism shown by the armed forces of Pakistan under the sagacious leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff.
The Consul General advised the Pakistani community members to remain united while residing abroad and leave no stone unturned in supporting our present leadership. The Consul General also highlighted that Pakistan has always played a constructive role in promoting dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful resolution of disputes in the region. He also made a special mention of the key mediation efforts undertaken by the Government of Pakistan aimed at reducing tensions and supporting peaceful engagement during the recent US-Iran crisis.
During the ceremony, the audience was also shown a documentary prepared by the Inter-Services Public Relations which highlighted various aspects of Maka-e-Haq and operation Bunyan al-Marsoos. In the end a special dua was made for all the martyrs of Marka e Haq.
