At the end of August the team implemented an important support action for the development of Action Plan.

The scope of the work was to know the daily production of the pilot area where chosen in Thi-Qar governorate; the team made the test on 30 houses in alshomoukh district that include 182 of the
inhabitants of the pilot area. To have an effective verification of the quantities hypothesized in the project, PIN - Polo Universitario Città di Prato team worked with Municipality officers to carry out a sample analysis of the waste produced by the inhabitants of Shoumoukh.

The activities carried out were the separated collection and weigh, for a single day, of the waste from the family bins - at least 30 families . After this the team separated the the dry part (glass, plastic, cans, and unsorted waste) from the wet part (food and
green waste) and finally the two components have been weighed.

The of the Peer to Peer project foresees the development of a applied on 200 households (1000 inhabitans). The pilot action will be developed in the district and it will be focused on the collection of and . It will be developed by the installation of bins on 20 collection stations (10 households served each). The collection of the two components of waste will be managed on alternate days. The experimental verification of the action will last at least 60 days, from the time of installation of the composter machine and the start of the service, to have the time necessary to transform the wet waste into fertile compost.

A preliminary sample analysis of the waste produced by the inhabitants of will be carried out. The activity will be finalized to the verification of the hypothesized quantity of produced waste: it will be collected, for a single day, the waste from the family bins of at least 30 households in the suburb of Shoumoukh and weighed them all together, to understand what the current average production per family is (kg/day). After this there will be the separation of the dry component (glass, plastic, cans, and unsorted waste) from the wet component (food and green waste) and finally the two components will be weighed to calculate the average production of wet and dry waste for each of the families involved in the test.
