Risulta essere, ancora oggi, una location affascinante sia per l'architettura che per il verde dei pini marittimi in cui è immerso. Il Castello Benelli fu eretto nelle campagne di Bordonchio per volere del conte Pietro Spina nell’ottocento, ricalcando le fondamenta di un antico castello medioevale indicativamente del XI secolo. La dimora viene acquistata nel 1917 dalla famiglia Benelli e ancora oggi risulta essere una location affascinante non solo per l’architettura, ma anche per la il verde dei pini marittimi da cui è circondato, che in un tempo non troppo lontano si estendevano dalle campagne fino a raggiungere il mare. Storicamente il Castello si dedicava alla produzione di vino, oggi si occupa della coltivazione di grano, girasole e mais. L’azienda agricola è ancora attiva e vanta numerosi premi come la medaglia del concorso dei tori da m***a. L’esterno è perfetto per eventi open air ed è di grande impatto scenografico in un contesto storico-artistico in armonia con il contesto naturalistico. Contribuiscono ad affascinare il visitatore le imponenti scuderie che ci riportano ad epoche antiche e vita signorile. Le stanze interne sono state tutte affrescate in modo diverso e recentemente restaurate sia nei soffitti che nelle pareti, per cui si ha la possibilità di allestire parte degli eventi anche all’interno.

Ci siamo quasi! Il 19 e 20 Castello Benelli ospita l’edizione autunnale di Giardini d’Autore: un weekend con i vivaisti nel parco e visite guidate alle sale affrescate aperte al piano nobile.

Nel parco: collezioni botaniche, artigiani, designer.
Nel castello: gli affreschi e i cicli pittorici restaurati, negli ambienti che raccontano la dimora dall’Ottocento a oggi.

The time has almost come! On the 19th and 20th, Castello Benelli hosts the autumn edition of Giardini d’Autore: a weekend featuring nursery growers in the park and guided tours of the frescoed rooms on the piano nobile (main floor).

In the park: botanical collections, artisans and designers.
Inside the castle: restored frescoes and painting cycles, set within rooms that tell the story of the estate from the 19th century to the present day.

Season after season, Castello Benelli builds a cultural program that reflects its unique character, selecting collaborations based on that same philosophy. Here, greenery represents both history and excellence.

🛡 Nel 1917 Ignazio Benelli acquistò una tenuta agricola con un castello che portava i segni di epoche diverse: dalle fondamenta di un’antica villa romana, a un primo impianto medievale, poi trasformato in casino di caccia dei Malatesta e, infine, a un assetto ottocentesco.

Per generazioni la residenza restò una proprietà privata. Poi, insieme alla sua famiglia, Paola Pizzighini Benelli, alla guida della Fondazione Palazzo Boncompagni e di Castello Benelli, decise che questo patrimonio non poteva restare segreto.

Dopo più di dieci anni di lavoro, oggi Castello Benelli fa parte dei circuiti Grandi Giardini Italiani e Dimore Storiche Italiane.

🛡 In 1917, Ignazio Benelli purchased a residence that bore the hallmarks of different eras: medieval foundations, a 19th-century structure commissioned by Count Spina and even further back, a former Malatesta hunting lodge.

For generations, the residence remained privately owned. Then Paola Pizzighini Benelli, head of the Palazzo Boncompagni Foundation and Castello Benelli, along with her family, decided that this heritage could not remain secret.

After more than ten years of work, Castello Benelli is now part of the Grandi Giardini Italiani and Dimore Storiche Italiane networks.

🌟 Il 10 agosto è la notte di San Lorenzo, quella delle stelle cadenti.

C’è chi la osserva dalla spiaggia, chi da un balcone in città. Noi ce la immaginiamo qui, sopra i pini marittimi del parco, con la sagoma della dimora ottocentesca sullo sfondo e il buio della campagna che lascia spazio al cielo.

C’è chi realizza mostre di arte contemporanea in un palazzo storico nel cuore di Bologna, chi gestisce la galleria commerciale più glamour della città, chi ha riportato alla luce un antico castello a due passi dal mare. Dietro questi tre luoghi c’è la stessa famiglia: Paola Pizzighini Benelli, con i figli, guida la Fondazione Palazzo Boncompagni e Castello Benelli. ⚜️ Due secoli di affreschi restaurati, un giardino di pini marittimi e la luce che a fine luglio si allunga fino a rendere tutto dorato.

Dietro il restauro che ha riportato Castello Benelli agli antichi splendori c’è il lavoro di Paola Pizzighini Benelli, presidente della Fondazione Palazzo Boncompagni e di Castello Benelli, che con la famiglia lo ha seguito sala per sala, dal Salone di ingresso allo Studio delle Aquile.

Da allora la dimora è diventata un polo culturale, con concerti, visite guidate e appuntamenti dedicati all’arte.
Ogni venerdì di questa estate la visita attraversa le sale del castello e prosegue nel parco, dove un aperitivo accompagna il momento più suggestivo della giornata.
