Interreg IPA South Adriatic is a cross-border cooperation programme co-funded by the EU through the Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA III), built on the results of the Interreg IPA Italy-Albania-Montenegro programme 2014-2020.

🌍 What is the Geocatalogue, and how can it help us tackle climate change?

🗺️ It is a tool that organises and shares geographical information, helping improve risk prevention, emergency management and cooperation.

🤝 Developed within RESILIENCE, it supports information sharing between Molise Region and Molise Civil Protection to strengthen preparedness and coordination across the Adriatic.

🇪🇺 Regione Molise presented the Geocatalogue in Brussels during the European Week of Regions and Cities 2026, at the event “Regions Advancing Climate Resilience”, with Antonio Cardillo showcasing its role in climate resilience.

🌍 Our project GOVERNANCE at !

The GOVERNANCE project showcased its results and experience during the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels, joining the Interreg family in presenting concrete examples of how cooperation contributes to a smarter, greener and more connected Europe.

📍 At the Interreg in Action stand, dedicated to Better Cooperation Governance, the project shared its approach, experiences and learning tools with visitors and representatives of other Interreg programmes.

🇪🇺 Together with the Interreg family, we are showing how European cooperation works in practice!

What happens when 10 Interreg Programmes decide to work together on a common challenge?

The Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM) brings together 10 Programmes and 25 countries around a shared focus: sustainable tourism.

The aim is to go beyond the boundaries of individual Programmes, connecting projects, territories, expertise and results to create new opportunities for cooperation.

Through the MMM, solutions already developed and tested by Interreg projects can be shared, adapted and transferred to new contexts, extending their reach and impact across the Mediterranean.

This approach takes shape through two complementary instruments:

→ The Coordinated Call, supporting capitalisation projects that build on existing results.

→ The Mediterranean Peer Learning Visits, creating opportunities for projects to exchange knowledge, experiences and practices.

The 4th Call for Small-Scale Capitalisation Projects launched by Interreg IPA South Adriatic is part of this coordinated effort.

❓ How can we better protect coastal and underwater archaeological heritage from climate and environmental risks?

📅 On 22 October 2026, Interreg ARCHAEOSAFE will bring researchers, heritage professionals and public institutions together in Lecce, Italy, for a public conference dedicated to the protection of vulnerable coastal and underwater heritage.

🕗 From 9:00 to 14:00 at CMCC Headquarters, experts from across the South-Adriatic area will discuss how coastal erosion, sea-level rise and changing marine conditions are affecting archaeological sites, and which tools, data and forms of cooperation can help monitor and manage these risks.

🌊 The programme will also present the ARCHAEOSAFE pilot sites in 🇮🇹Italy, 🇦🇱Albania and 🇲🇪Montenegro, followed by a round table on current challenges, knowledge gaps and cross-border cooperation.
