Sarma /Sigríður Margrét Vigfúsdóttir sérfræðingur hjá Rannís lét af störfum í sumar eftir 35 ára starf við MEDIA áætlun ESB. Framlag hennar er ómetanlegt fyrir íslenska kvikmynda- og sjónvarpsþáttagerð. Vandfundin er álíka ráðgjöf og sérfræðiþekking þegar kom að ESB umsóknarvinnu. Hún hafði djúpstæðan skilning og þekkingu á bransanum hér á landi. Sarma hlaut verðskulduð heiðursverðlaun Eddunnar 2014 fyrir framúrskarandi starf í þágu listarinnar.

Samantekt á tölfræði á hennar MEDIA starfsævi, talar sínu máli. Allt frá 1992, upphafsári MEDIA-þátttöku þegar Sarma hóf störf, hefur íslenskur kvikmyndaiðnaður fengið 21 milljón evra eða 3,3 milljarða íslenskra króna í styrki, oftar en ekki með hennar umsóknarráðgjöf og er það stórbrotinn árangur á evrópskan mælikvarða. Hún var ekki einungis afburðastarfskraftur heldur er hún bráðskemmtileg og einstaklega fær samstarfskona sem hefur verið mikilvægur hvalreki fyrir vinnustaðinn og sviðið allt. Við vinnufélagar þökkum Sörmu frábært samstarf og fyrir hennar ómetanlega en þó mælanlega vinnuframlag.

We often talk about the EUmies Awards Days that bring together the winners and finalists of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Awards, supported under Creative Europe, in Barcelona. But the impact of the Prize goes far beyond one celebration. ✨

We are delighted to partner with Docs Ireland, Screen Producers Ireland and the Documentary Association of Europe on an Industry event, 'The New Doc-Making Reality: Producing Docs in a Precarious Landscape' on Friday 19 June from 10am in The MAC, Belfast as part of 's Industry programme.

This event will bring together film professionals across the value chain to discuss their experience of working in this new reality, providing a positive outlook and perspective on finding a route to production and exhibition, through presentations, case studies and honest discussion.
