Embassy of India in partnership with India-Iceland Chamber of Commerce held an interactive trade promotion event in Reykjavik on Monday, 14 September 2026. Ambassador Shri. Ravindra briefed the new board and members about trade and investment opportunities in India. Ambassador particularly highlighted clean energy, fisheries and bio-tech sectors and policy initiatives of Government of India to attract FDI. Ambassador also briefed the gathering about the upcoming India-EFTA Prosperity Summit scheduled in New Delhi on 7 October 2026. Chairperson of the Chamber Ms. Chandrika Gunnerson, Director General in Ministry of Foreign Trade, Mr. Ingólfur Friðriksson and Secretary General of the Chamber Ólafur Stefánsson also addressed the gathering. Members of the Chamber and Icelandic businessmen attended the event.

India-BRICS partnership creating new pathways for trade and growth.

India's trade with BRICS nations has crossed $417 billion in 2025–26, more than doubling over five years; reflecting deepening economic ties.

With merchandise exports reaching $96 billion, new avenues are emerging in pharma, electronics, agriculture, renewable energy and digital services.
