CIGE Strengthens Capacity to Support Survivors and Families of the Missing
In august 2026, personnel from VSU and Missing Persons Unit received a 3 day capacity building training to equip them with the specialized skills needed to effectively support families of the missing persons.
The training focused on the unique psychological challenges of ambiguous loss and long-term uncertainty, the course moved beyond theory to work on practical skills like active listening, empathetic communication, and the facilitation of safe, trauma-informed information sessions. Participants learned to navigate complex emotional reactions, distinguish between confirmed and unconfirmed information, and uphold strict ethical standards of confidentiality and "do no harm," all while prioritizing the dignity of the families and the self-care of the support team.
This initiative represents CIGE’s continuous effort to seek justice and provide dignity for survivors and families living with the uncertainty of loss.

في أغسطس 2026، تلقى موظفين من قسم دعم الضحايا و قسم الأشخاص المفقودين تدريبًا لبناء القدرات لمدة 3 أيام لتزويدهم بالمهارات المتخصصة اللازمة لدعم أسر الأشخاص المفقودين بشكل فعال.
ركز التدريب على التحديات النفسية الفريدة المتمثلة في الخسارة الغامضة وعدم اليقين على المدى الطويل، وتجاوزت الدورة النظرية للعمل على المهارات العملية مثل الاستماع النشط والتواصل التعاطفي وتسهيل جلسات المعلومات الآمنة والمستنيرة بالصدمات. وتعلم المشاركون كيفية التعامل مع ردود الفعل العاطفية المعقدة، والتمييز بين المعلومات المؤكدة وغير المؤكدة، والالتزام بالمعايير الأخلاقية الصارمة للسرية و"عدم الإضرار"، كل ذلك مع إعطاء الأولوية لكرامة الأسر والرعاية الذاتية لفريق الدعم.
تمثل هذه المبادرة الجهود المستمرة التي تبذلها الهيئة للسعي لتحقيق العدالة وتوفير الكرامة للناجين والأسر التي تعيش في ظل عدم اليقين بشأن الخسارة.
