The town is connected with Chennai- Howrah Railway line and N.H.43 ie., Rajapulova to Raipur road passes through this town. This town has geographical proximity with Orissa and Chattisgarh states and the town is situated 50km away from Harbour town Visakhapatnam and 28 km away from the sea coast.

గుంతల రహిత నగరంగా తీర్చిదిద్దే ప్రక్రియలో అధికారులు చేస్తున్న కృషి అభినందనీయమని డిప్యూటీ మేయర్ కోలగట్ల శ్రావణి అన్నారు. గతుకలతో ఉన్న రహదారులకు మరమ్మత్తులు చేయించి, ప్రజలకు సౌకర్యవంతంగా తీర్చిదిద్దే రహదారుల చిత్రాలను ప్రదర్శించే కార్యక్రమాన్ని బుధవారం నగరపాలక సంస్థ సమావేశ మందిరంలో ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. ఈ ఫోటో ఎగ్జిబిషన్ ను డిప్యూటీ మేయర్ కోలగట్ల శ్రావణి ప్రారంభించారు. ప్రదర్శనలో నాటి చిత్రాలు, నేటి చిత్రాలు ఆశాంతం పరిశీలించిన ఆమె ప్రాంతాల వారీగా జరిగిన మరమ్మత్తుల పనితీరును అడిగి తెలుసుకున్నారు. అనంతరం మీడియాతో డిప్యూటీ మేయర్ కోలగట్ల శ్రావణి మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రజలకు సౌకర్యవంతమైన అభివృద్ధిని, సేవలను అందించేందుకు ఇటు పాలకవర్గ సభ్యులు, అటు అధికారులు నిరంతరం శ్రమిస్తున్నారని అన్నారు. రహదారులపై నాడు ఉన్న పరిస్థితులను, ప్రస్తుతం మరమ్మతులు పూర్తి చేసిన తర్వాత పరిస్థితులను వివరించే విధంగా ఫోటో ఎగ్జిబిషన్ ప్రదర్శించడం సంతోషకరమన్నారు. దీనివల్ల రహదారులపై నాటి పరిస్థితి ప్రస్తుతం జరిగిన అభివృద్ధి పరిస్థితి ప్రజలకు విశదమవుతుందన్నారు. ప్రధాన రహదారులే కాకుండా శివారు ప్రాంతాలలో మరమ్మతులకు గురైన రహదారులను పునర్నిర్మించి ప్రజలకు అందుబాటులోకి తెస్తున్నామన్నారు. శాసనసభ్యులు కోలగట్ల వీరభద్రస్వామి నిరంతర పర్యవేక్షణలో ఓవైపు అభివృద్ధి, మరోవైపు ప్రజా సౌకర్యాలను మెరుగుపరుస్తున్నట్లు గుర్తు చేశారు. నగరంలో క్షేత్రస్థాయిలో పర్యటించి గుంతలను గుర్తించడం జరిగిందన్నారు. 296 గుంతలను గుర్తించి, 68 లక్షల రూపాయలతో వాటిని పూడ్చడం జరిగిందని చెప్పారు.యుద్ధ ప్రాతిపదికన గుంతలను పూడ్చి అవసరమైన చోట్ల నూతన రహదారులను ఏర్పాటు చేసి ప్రజా సౌకర్యం కోసం అందుబాటులోకి తెచ్చామన్నారు. ఇంకా మిగిలి ఉన్న గుంతలను త్వరలోనే పూర్తి చేసి ప్రజలకు అందుబాటులోకి తెస్తామన్నారు. ఇందుకోసం 28 లక్షల రూపాయలతో టెండర్లు పిలవడం జరిగిందన్నారు. 14వ ఆర్థిక సంఘం నిధులు 14.45 కోట్ల రూపాయలతో, 15 ఆర్థిక సంఘం నిధులు 30.31 కోట్ల రూపాయలతో, సాధారణ నిధులు ఐదు కోట్ల రూపాయలతోనూ నూతనంగా రహదారులు వేయడం, మరమత్తు పనులు చేపట్టడం జరిగిందన్నారు. 8.84 కోట్ల రూపాయలతో పైప్ లైన్లు ఏర్పాటు చేసి, ప్రతి ఇంటికి కుళాయి కనెక్షన్లు ఇవ్వాలన్నదే తమ లక్ష్యమని పేర్కొన్నారు. అందరి సహకారంతో సౌకర్యవంతమైన అభివృద్ధికి కృషి చేస్తున్నామని చెప్పారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో కమీషనర్ ఆర్.శ్రీరాములు నాయుడు,డిప్యూటీ మేయర్ రేవతి దేవి,ఈఈ శ్రీనివాసరావు, డిఈ అప్పారావు తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
