Kodikkarai The name of the village literally means a village with a sea shore at its India corner. The very thought of it makes me so proud of my hometown.

Kodikkarai (in Tamil) also called Point Calimere(in English) is a low land area on the Coromandel Coast, in the Nagapattinam district of the state of TamilNadu, India. It is the Summit of the Cauvery river delta, and marks a nearly 90' angle turn in the coastline. Kodikkarai - 55km from Nagapattinam, Velankanni is the tip of the Indian Map after which one gets into the Bay of Bengal heading to Sri

How good it feels for a visitor to find himself amidst a junction of a village that is sandwiched between an ocean and an evergreen forest!!! No where in the whole wide world would someone be blessed with such a scenario of two natural extremes an ocean and a forest....
So folks get ready to get a splash of the sea water and a dazzle of the forest area and many more fascinating and taunting historic places my village has to offer, treasured and kept all these years, abreast the many natural and technological calamities it has faced.
