Ambassador Arunkoemar Hardien had the unique opportunity to experience kava, the traditional Fijian drink, in the gracious presence of High Commissioner H.E. Jagnnath Sami of Fiji 🇫🇯..

Sharing this moment was more than tasting a cultural beverage, it was an immersion into Fiji’s rich heritage of community, respect, and togetherness.

Kava is not just a drink; it is a symbol of hospitality and harmony, bringing people together in a spirit of friendship.

~ 50/50, Commemoration & Commitment ~

The Embassy of Suriname in India concluded Suriname's 🇸🇷 50th Independence ("Srefidensi") commemoration with a symbolic act: planting 50 trees in the Central Ridge Area of New Delhi.

Led by Ambassador Arunkoemar Hardien and inspired by India’s national initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, the planting reflects the shared commitment of Suriname 🇸🇷 and India 🇮🇳 to environmental protection and respect for Mother Earth.

The initiative was made possible with support of India’s Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and the National Afforestation & Eco-Development Board.

The tree-planting also aligns with Suriname’s global message at COP30, reaffirming the country’s commitment to remain carbon-negative and protect its rich natural heritage.
