Stephen's Church of Uzhavoor belongs to the Kottayam Diocese of Knanaya Catholic community(CKP). uzhavoor is located about 5km from KURIANAD,5km from MONIPPALLY, 5km from MARANGATTUPALLY, 5km from VELIYANNOOR, 5km from KUDAKKACHIRA, 8 km from RAMAPURAM, 14 km from
PALAI and 32km from KOTTAYAM TOWN. UZHAVOOR belongs to KADUTHURUTHY L

EGISLATIVE CONSTITUENCY and KOTTAYAM Parliament constituency. The simple peasants of this village who belong to different religions and communities live here in peace, harmony and unity. They are famous for their hard work and their efforts to be excellent in all fields. Narayanan, who came from one of the poorest families of this village, is the role model for these people even today. The scenic beauty of the area is quite noteworthy, The place is filled with rubber trees (beauty of rubber trees and rubber palu), jack fruit trees, mango trees and coconut trees. Uzhavoor is surrounded by small, but beautiful places like Edakoli, Poovathumkal, Melareekara and Pius Mount. A place called "aanakkallumala" meaning "Mountain shaped like an elephant" is a site with a fabulous view (It is part of history now). Older generation students used to visit "Anakkallummala" during "Sevana Vaaram" in school (week of Gandhijayanthi). now i know u will think about' CHAKKARA',' THENGA,' AVAL'........

The majority of the population are members of the Knanaya Catholic community(CKP) . St. STEPHEN'S Church in Uzhavoor is famous for its perunnal (feast) on December 25 and 26. This is the biggest event in the village and a lot of people take part in this event. Many people working abroad and in other parts of India will visit during this time as a family re-union. St Stephen's College and O.L.L.H.S are located near the church. The church and college are located on two hills facing each other.,
Karunechi and Chathakulam temples are the main Hindu temples in Uzhavoor. Educational institutions in uzhavoor;
