In the 3rd phase of poppy destruction drives, starting from 3rd February till 7th February 2026 , a total of 643 acres of poppy plantations were destructed and 55 huts were burnt.

3rd phase Poppy Destruction drive carried out by combined teams of Ukhrul District Police, Ukhrul & Kamjong Districts Revenue, 6MR, District Forest Department, 18 Assam Rifles, NCB, Adhoc M&C-XXII Bn.BSF and 8 Bihar regiment at Mapithel Hill Ranges, Khamasom and Sihai Hill ranges from 3rd February till 7th February 2026.

​As part of the phase 2 poppy destruction drive, the following teams conducted operations at two different locations today, 19.12.2025 (Day 4):
• ​LM Block: A total of 58 acres were destroyed and 5 huts used by poppy cultivators were burnt by a combined team comprising District Police, 6MR, the Forest Department, and 18 Assam Rifles, under the command of SDPO Ukhrul.
• ​Mullam & Shongphel Area: A total of 60 acres were destroyed and 15 huts used by poppy cultivators were burnt by a combined team comprising District Police, BSF, the Forest Department, 4 Mahar Regiment, NCB and NAB, under the command of SDPO Jessami.
​FIR cases will be registered accordingly for both locations. The two teams will continue the destruction drive through Saturday, 20.12.2025.

• ​LM Block: A total of 52 acres were destroyed and 12 huts used by poppy cultivators were burnt by a combined team comprising District Police, 6MR, the Forest Department, and 18 Assam Rifles, under the command of SDPO Ukhrul.
• ​Yaolen Chepu & Lamlai Chingphei Area: A total of 67 acres were destroyed and 12 huts used by poppy cultivators were burnt by a combined team comprising District Police, BSF, the Forest Department, 4 Mahar Regiment, NCB and NAB, under the command of SDPO Jessami.
​FIR cases will be registered accordingly for both locations. The two teams will continue the destruction drive through Saturday, 20.12.2025.

As part of the poppy destruction drive, today, i.e. 17.12.2025, the 2nd day of the phase-2, the following teams conducted poppy destruction drive at 2 (two) differrent locations comprising of the following teams:
1. LM block - a total of 55 acres were destroyed and 5 huts used by the poppy cultivators were burnt by the combined team of District Police, 6MR, Forest Department & 18 Assam Rifles.
2. Yaolen Chepu & Lamlai Chingphei area- a total of 85 acres were dedtroyed and 11 huts used by the poppy cultivators were burnt by the combined team of District Police, BSF, Forest Department and NAB.
FIR case will be taken up accordingly for both the locations. The two teams will continue to carry out the poppy destruction drives till saturday, i.e., 20/12/2025.
