The success story of Sakshi Thakur :

The Government Schools have excelled in the overall pass percentage of 12th class in Jammu and Kashmir. The result of which was declared on Sunday by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education. The total number of students enrolled was 33779, out of which 26139 cleared the examination. Total 57 per cent boys passed in the Arts stream, 85 per cent in Commerce Stream and 81 per cent in Science stream.

In girls, pass percentage in Arts stream was 74 per cent, in Commerce 95 per cent and in Science 89 per cent.

Sakshi Thakur D/o Romesh Chander scored 481 (96.2%) marks in this examination. She was studying at Vijay Hr. Secondary school Udhampur. In an interview with Jammu Samvad she said, " I give the credit for my success to my parents and God. There was never any pressure from their side and they stood with me like a rock throughout my preparations. I am obviously very excited and turning out to be one of the toppers come to me as a surprise."
