An employment-oriented placement drive was successfully conducted at Government Degree College Ramnagar for unemployed youth with the aim of connecting aspiring candidates to better career opportunities. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and job seekers who explored various employment prospects and interacted with recruiters and officials.

Alongside the placement drive, an awareness camp on Mission YUVA and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was also organized to spread awareness among youth regarding self-employment opportunities, skill development, entrepreneurship, and the importance of a drug-free society. The programme encouraged young individuals to build a secure and responsible future through employment, awareness, and positive social participation.

Udhampur, May 12: A review meeting under Mission YUVA was held today at the Conference Hall of DC Office Udhampur under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Shri Minga Sherpa, IAS. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, General Manager DIC, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, District Social Welfare Officer, District Lead Bank Officer, DDM NABARD, District Nodal Officer JKEDI, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Programme Manager NRLM, Assistant General Manager J&K Bank, besides all SBDU members, BHD members and Motivators of Udhampur district.Also principals from different colleges and schools are also present along with their internal trainers.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Assistant Director Employment, Udhampur, who welcomed all the officers and participants and highlighted the objectives of the meeting and the importance of coordinated efforts for successful implementation of Mission YUVA across the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress achieved under Mission YUVA and assessed the performance of different stakeholders involved in the mission. Emphasizing a result-oriented approach, the DC stressed upon the “4C” framework — Credit, Capacity, Culture and Connectivity — as the foundation for successful entrepreneurship development and employment generation in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner further instructed the concerned officers to ensure smooth processing of cases, effective counselling of youth and enhanced awareness regarding self-employment opportunities available under Mission YUVA.
Various issues related to implementation, coordination and progress monitoring were also discussed during the meeting, and necessary directions were issued for achieving the desired targets within stipulated timelines.

Today on May 6,2026, a 'Block Diwas' was organized at the CFC Center in the Chenani Block, under the chairmanship of the Worthy District Development Commissioner Udhampur. During the event, public grievances were heard and assurances were given regarding their resolution. The DC Sir highlighted the 'Mission Yuva' scheme and explained its benefits to the general public, thereby enabling them to avail themselves of the scheme's advantages. He also informed the public about the Business Help Desk, noting that a team has been established for it within the SDM's office in Chenani. He encouraged the general public to visit and avail themselves of the benefits.
