Today, Nabadiganta Welfare Society proudly celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, unity, and patriotic spirit. 🇮🇳✨

The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by a heartfelt tribute to the brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our nation’s independence.

Let us remember their sacrifices and continue to work together towards a stronger, more inclusive, peaceful, and prosperous India. ❤️🇮🇳

It was a great honour to welcome Hon'ble Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh Ji, to our stall at Indie Haat 2026. We were privileged to showcase Tripura's GI-tagged traditional musical instrument, the Sarinda. It was a proud moment as Hon'ble Minister took keen interest, observed the craftsmanship, and even played the Sarinda, appreciating the rich cultural heritage and exceptional skills of Tripura's artisans. Moments like these inspire us to preserve and promote our traditional crafts on a global stage. 🇮🇳🎶🙏

The traditional “Tripura Sarinda (Musical Instrument)” has been officially registered under the Geographical Indications (GI) process, with Nabadiganta Welfare Society as the applicant.
This achievement is not merely a recognition of a musical instrument; it is a tribute to the centuries-old traditions, craftsmanship, and soulful expressions of the indigenous communities of Tripura. The melodious tunes of the Sarinda carry the stories of our ancestors, our culture, and our identity.

ত্রিপুরার সমৃদ্ধ সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্যের এক গর্বের মুহূর্ত…

ঐতিহ্যবাহী ত্রিপুরা সারিন্দা, একটি অনন্য আদিবাসী তারযুক্ত বাদ্যযন্ত্র, ভৌগোলিক নির্দেশক (Geographical Indication – GI) স্বীকৃতি অর্জন করেছে। “ত্রিপুরা সারিন্দা (বাদ্যযন্ত্র)”-এর এই স্বীকৃতি আমাদের অমূল্য লোকঐতিহ্য সংরক্ষণ ও প্রসারের ক্ষেত্রে এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে বিবেচিত হবে এবং একই সঙ্গে রাজ্যের সমৃদ্ধ সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্যকে আরও শক্তিশালী করবে।

এই অর্জনের মাধ্যমে ত্রিপুরা এখন চারটি GI-স্বীকৃত পণ্যের গর্বিত অধিকারী। এই অসাধারণ সাফল্যের পেছনে যাঁদের নিষ্ঠা, দক্ষতা ও সৃজনশীল অবদান রয়েছে, সেই সকল কারিগর ও সংগীতশিল্পীকে জানাই আন্তরিক অভিনন্দন ও শুভেচ্ছা।

এর আগে ত্রিপুরা কুইন আনারস (Tripura Queen Pineapple), রিশা/পাছড়া (রিগনাই) এবং মাতাবাড়ি পেড়া GI স্বীকৃতি অর্জন করেছে, যা ত্রিপুরার সমৃদ্ধ ঐতিহ্য, সংস্কৃতি ও স্বকীয়তার উজ্জ্বল নিদর্শন।
