A Free Health Check-up Camp for Drivers was organised today at Tinsukia ASTC premises by O/o the DTO, Tinsukia under the aegis of the District Road Safety Committee, Tinsukia with medical support from Apeksha Hospital, Dibrugarh and focused on comprehensive health screening of drivers to promote their welfare and ensure enhanced road safety. The initiative aimed at early detection of health issues, encouraging regular health monitoring, and reinforcing the importance of physical fitness among drivers for safer roads. The programme witnessed active participation from drivers and transport stakeholders.

The inaugural programme of Rapido (Aggregator) services, organized by Rapido, was held in Tinsukia on 17th Feb, 2026, marking the introduction of organized bike-taxi and cab services in the district.

On the occasion, Shri Jintu Dhadumia, Motor Vehicle Inspector, O/o the District Transport Officer, Tinsukia, attended the programme as the Chief Guest and sensitized the Rapido officials and drivers (Captains) on the statutory requirements, safety norms, and operational responsibilities under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the Assam Motor Vehicle Aggregator Rules, 2022.

The O/o the District Transport Officer, Tinsukia, reiterates its commitment to safe, regulated, and compliant aggregator services.

The scheme reflects a national commitment to save lives of victims of road accidents by removing financial barriers and timely medical care.

🇮🇳 77th Republic Day Celebration at District Transport Office, Tinsukia 🇮🇳

The Office of the District Transport Officer, Tinsukia proudly celebrates the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.

The National Flag was unfurled by Shri Kanai Mahanta, District Transport Officer, Tinsukia in the august presence of Shri Jintu Dhadumia, Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI), Enforcement staff, officials and well-wishers. The ceremony reflected our collective commitment towards the Constitution, discipline, and responsible citizen of India. Following the event, homeguards and well-wishers were honoured with the traditional Fulam Gamusa as a mark of respect and gratitude for their selfless service.
