PM Vishwakarma Exhibition

The PM Vishwakarma Exhibition was successfully organised from 25th to 27th February 2026 at E. K. Nayanar Memorial Park, Thiruvananthapuram by the MSME-Development & Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Thrissur in association with Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation and Kerala Artisans Development Corporation (KADCO).
Objective of the Exhibition
The exhibition was organised with the objective of showcasing products manufactured by beneficiaries approved under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, thereby providing them a dedicated platform for market exposure, networking, and promotion of traditional artisan skills. The initiative aimed at strengthening market linkages, encouraging entrepreneurship, and enhancing the visibility of traditional crafts.
Publicity
Extensive publicity measures were undertaken to ensure maximum outreach and public participation. Public notices and advertisements were issued through leading newspapers and DAVP (Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity) channels. Telecast coverage was arranged through Doordarshan and announcements were disseminated through Akashvani, along with promotion through social media platforms. These concerted efforts significantly contributed to attracting visitors and enhancing awareness about the exhibition and the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
Participation and Facilities Provided
A total of 51 stalls were set up by artisans approved under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. Each participant was provided with a standard stall measuring 3m ร 3m free of cost to ensure inclusive participation and to reduce the financial burden on artisans. The exhibition featured a wide range of traditional and skill-based products representing various artisan trades.
To facilitate smooth participation, food arrangements were also provided to all participating artisans on all three days of the exhibition. These supportive measures enabled beneficiaries to focus entirely on showcasing and marketing their products without additional logistical concerns.
Capacity Building & Awareness Programmes
As part of the exhibition, Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme and Marketing & Entrepreneurship Development sessions were conducted for PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries. The programme included sessions on Export Marketing, highlighting opportunities in international markets and related procedures. A detailed session on โSetting up of an Enterprise in Kerala and the Role of District Industries Centreโ explained statutory registrations, institutional support, and facilitation mechanisms available to entrepreneurs.
Sessions on Marketing Techniques and Entrepreneurship covered branding, pricing strategies, customer engagement, and business expansion strategies. Awareness was also provided on Government e-Marketplace (GeM) to enable artisans to access public procurement opportunities. Banking formalities, credit linkage processes, and financial documentation were explained to enhance financial literacy. A dedicated session by KADCO elaborated on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme and the role of the Corporation in providing marketing and promotional support.
Public Engagement & Cultural Programmes
To enhance visitor engagement, musical performances by participants were organised during the evenings, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere at the venue. A photography competition was conducted to promote the exhibition and artisansโ products through digital platforms and social media outreach. Lucky draws were organised on all three days, encouraging visitor participation and increasing footfall.
Inaugural Function
The inaugural function was held on 25th February 2026. The Welcome Address was delivered by Smt. Rekha K., Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Thrissur. The Presidential Address was delivered by Shri G. S. Prakash, Director & Head of Office, MSME-DFO, Thrissur.
The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Adv. V. V. Rajesh, Honโble Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram. A special address was delivered by Shri Pradeep, SLBC Convener. Felicitations were offered by Ms. V. Sathyavathi, Chairperson, Welfare Standing Committee, Thiruvananthapuram Corporation; Shri S. K. P. Ramesh, Ward Councillor, Chala; and Shri C. V. Mathew, Managing Director, KADCO. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Aruna Markose, Young Professional, MSME-DFO, Thrissur.
Valedictory Function
The Valedictory Programme of the PM Vishwakarma Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair was held on 27th February 2026 at 01.00 PM. The Presidential Address was delivered by Shri G. S. Prakash, Director, MSME-DFO, Thrissur. The Valedictory Address and distribution of certificates to PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries was carried out by Shri C. V. Mathew, Managing Director, KADCO.
Certificates were distributed to participating artisans and stakeholders in recognition of their contribution and participation. The artisans shared positive feedback regarding the exhibition and appreciated the efforts taken by MSME-DFO, Thrissur. Many participants stated that the exposure, training sessions, and customer interaction had enhanced their confidence and motivated them to expand their enterprises.
Overall Outcome
The PM Vishwakarma Exhibition was successfully conducted with strong participation from artisans and active public engagement. By providing free stalls, food facilities, capacity-building sessions, and promotional support, the event ensured inclusive participation and meaningful impact. The exhibition effectively promoted traditional skills, strengthened market access, and encouraged sustainable entrepreneurship among PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries.
The exhibition witnessed a total footfall of 1,034 visitors over the three days, and an approximate sales turnover of โน3.5 lakh was generated by the participating artisans, reflecting encouraging public response and positive market acceptance of the products showcased.

A press meet was organised in connection with the exhibition to ensure wider media outreach. The event received significant coverage in leading media platforms including Malayala Manorama, Deshabhimani, Doordarshan, Akashvani, and other local news dailies, thereby further enhancing public awareness.
