No TB in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram District TB Centre has set a remarkable example in Kerala by effectively utilizing the Indian Postal System for TB sample transportation.

This innovative initiative ensures timely, safe, and reliable delivery of samples, thereby strengthening TB diagnosis and care services across the district.

Currently, the postal system is successfully being implemented in seven TB units and all private hospitals under Thiruvananthapuram district.

It is a collaborative effort by the DMO Trivandrum, NHM Trivandrum, and the District TB Centre, Trivandrum. Today, almost all FHCs, CHCs, secondary hospitals, and private hospitals are transporting TB samples through the Indian Postal Service.

Thiruvananthapuram proudly becomes the first district in Kerala to implement this system across the entire district. There may be no hype—but the effort, coordination, and commitment behind this achievement were truly immense.

For any system to remain sustainable, continuous effort is essential. The DTC team, STLS, STS, JHIs, and all field staff will continue to stand by, supporting and addressing queries to ensure smooth functioning and long-term success of this initiative. @

കൊവിഡ് മൂലമുണ്ടാകുന്ന താൽക്കാലിക രോഗപ്രതിരോധ ശേഷിക്കുറവും ശ്വാസകോശത്തിലെ വീക്കവുമാണ് ക്ഷയരോഗത്തിലേക്ക് നയിക്കുന്നത്. പോസ്റ്റ് കൊവിഡ് ശ്വസന രോഗങ്ങളുടെ ലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ക്ഷയരോഗത്തിന്റെ ലക്ഷണങ്ങളുമായി സാമ്യമുള‌ളതിനാൽ ക്ഷയരോഗ നിർണയത്തിലെ കാലതാമസം വരാൻ സാദ്ധ്യതയുണ്ട്.
കൊവിഡ് മുക്തരായവരിൽ ശ്വാസകോശ സംബന്ധമായ അസ്വസ്ഥതകളുണ്ടായാൽ അവർ ക്ഷയരോഗമില്ലെന്നും ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തേണ്ടതാണ്. എല്ലാ പോസ്റ്റ് കൊവിഡ് ക്ലിനിക്കുകളിലും ടി ബി സ്‌ക്രീനിംഗ് ഉണ്ട്.. പോസ്റ്റ് കൊവിഡ് ക്ലിനിക്കുകളിൽ വരുന്ന എല്ലാ രോഗികൾക്കും ഇതിനായി അവബോധം നൽകുന്നതാണ്.

രണ്ട് ആഴ്ചയിൽ കൂടുതലുള്ള ചുമ, രണ്ടാഴ്‌ചയിലധികം നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന പനി, രാത്രികാലങ്ങളിലെ വിയർപ്പ്, ഭാരം കുറയൽ, നെഞ്ചുവേദന, ശ്വാസകോശ സംബന്ധമായ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ തുടങ്ങി ഏതെങ്കിലും ലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ആ വ്യക്തികൾ ക്ഷയരോഗ പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക് വിധേയരാകുകയും നാറ്റ് പരിശോധകൾ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യണം.
