An awareness session on Fire Safety and Disaster Management was conducted on 25.05.2026 at 11:00 AM in the Conference Hall of KSCSTE–NATPAC Headquarters, Aakkulam, Thiruvananthapuram.

The session aimed to equip employees with practical knowledge of fire safety measures, emergency response procedures, and disaster preparedness practices to promote a safer, more resilient workplace environment.

The programme provided valuable insights into preventive safety measures, emergency handling techniques, and preparedness strategies essential for ensuring employee safety and institutional readiness during unforeseen situations.

As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of NATPAC, a Scientist-Student Interaction session on “Prospects in Transportation Field for Civil Engineering Students” was successfully conducted on 21st May at NATPAC's Regional Office Ernakulam for about 20 B.Tech students of KMEA Engineering College, Cochin, India.

The programme commenced with opening remarks by Dr. Ashalatha R. Director, KSCSTE-NATPAC, highlighting the importance of not only research, innovation, and emerging opportunities in the transportation sector but also the need to develop interpersonal communication skills and an orientation towards being a team player.

This was followed by an overview of NATPAC and further delved into the sub-themes of transportation, data requirement and software used for analysis, culminating in career opportunities in transportation delivered by Shri. Anish Kini B, Principal Scientist and Scientist-in-Charge, NATPAC Regional Office, Ernakulam.

The interaction continued with technical sessions by Dr. Anila Cyril, Dr. Rameesha T V, Dr. Vasudevan N, and Smt. Ardra S Krishna, who presented their ongoing works and shared insights into contemporary research and developments in transportation and allied domains.

NATPAC also acknowledges the support and participation of the faculty members from KMEA, including Dr. Biji Chinnamma Thomas and Dr. Megha Mohan, for facilitating student engagement.

The session provided students with exposure to real-world transportation challenges, current research initiatives, and potential academic and professional pathways in the field.

NATPAC successfully conducted the Government of India (MoEF&CC) funded Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) Certificate course on "Electric Vehicle Charging Installation Techician" covering 450 hours of theory and practical sessions. This was conducted in association with the Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT) Thiruvananthapuram with support from EIACP hub - KSCSTE. The course gave practical insights and knowledge to the participants through expert lectures and industry visits to ChargeMod, Ather and KSEB. We were able to give life skills to participants in this upcoming field of sustainable transportation which is all the more important given the higher pe*******on of EVs in Kerala and the uptake of more public charging stations through PM eDRIVE scheme.
