Wetlands may often be overlooked, but they are essential to life.
“On World Wetlands Day, we recognize the vital role of wetlands like Glaw Lake in Kamlang Tiger Reserve, Arunachal Pradesh—ecosystems that quietly sustain wildlife and landscapes. Glaw Lake acts as a natural water reservoir, supporting local biodiversity, regulating water flow, and contributing to groundwater recharge. It provides habitat for aquatic species and migratory birds while supporting surrounding communities that depend on its resources. As climate change and human pressures threaten wetlands worldwide, protecting Glaw Lake is not just about conservation—it is about securing wildlife biodiversity and ecological balance for future generations.”

Exhibition was organized by the in collaboration with the , National Tiger Conservation Authority & Confederation of Indian Industry from the 9th to the 12th of October. Artists from Wakro — Miss Behelti Ama, Miss Sareng Rangmang, Mr. Dewanso Tamai, and Mr. Taba Tassar — were part of this remarkable journey titled "Silent Conversation: From Margin to Center," representing the Kamlang Tiger Reserve.

It was an incredible experience for them. This wonderful initiative provided vital support and encouragement — something every artist truly values.

The Kamlang Tiger Reserve has been a constant source of support over the past three years. Their unwavering belief in these tribal artists has played a significant role in making this journey possible.

On the first day, they had the honor of an inauguration by former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind .The second day featured a conference where several distinguished speakers shared insights on promoting tribal art and supporting the artists behind it.

The Ministry of Culture, Government of India in presence of Shri. Gajendra Singh Sekhawat expressed commitments to organizing more large-scale events for artists. He aims to showcase their work in prestigious venues such as the Lalit Kala Akademi, the National Museum in New Delhi, and potentially on international platforms like biennales.

This presents an incredible opportunity for artists to present their work to a wider audience on a national — and possibly global — stage.
