Birbhum Forest Division Birbhum Forest Division started functioning from 15th of July 1954. It covers an entire Birbhum District.

Of the total geographical area of 4550 sq km forest area is a meagre 15926 ha,( only 3.5%).

Delighted to inform. Ballavpur sanctuary has recorded highest number of migratory birds in all wetlands surveyed in West Bengal. Second highest is also from Birbhum, that is Neel Nirjhan, Dubrajpur range. Regards.
