In case you are looking for a job, after your masters, it's a mixed bag here. It depends on which field you are doing your masters', how affluent you are and how much risk you are willing to take. In most engineering fields, save computer science, it is difficult to land a job 'good enough' for a Master degree holder in India, except maybe in the older IITs. Even they aren't great. Only a select few get great jobs.
If you secure admission in a good university in US, you stand a good chance of obtaining a good job. This is especially true for computer science as most large corporations have their headquarters in the Silicon Valley and the quality of work you get to do there is better. An added advantage would that you will be exposed to different cultures and different professional practices.
