A review meeting was held on dated 22/08/2026 under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Technical Education Minister, Sh. Rajesh Dharmani Ji, to deliberate upon the operationalisation of the Centre of Excellence (CoE), Waknaghat, developed under the ADB-assisted Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Project (HPSDP).
The meeting focused on institutional arrangements, effective utilisation of the infrastructure and equipment created under the project, and development of a sustainable operational model for the Centre in the Tourism & Hospitality sector.
The Hon’ble Minister directed HPIDB and HPKVN to organise a Pre-Proposal Conference with prospective investors and private-sector stakeholders to seek their inputs and explore innovative, commercially viable and financially sustainable models for operationalising the CoE.
The Hon’ble Minister emphasised that the process should be time-bound, outcome-oriented and consultative, with the objective of making the CoE fully functional and ensuring optimum utilisation of the assets created under HPSDP.

Glimpses of Training Program under RAMP Scheme
Organized by Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) in collaboration with the Department of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh

Job Role: Hand Embroiderer

The program aims to equip rural women, including Self-Help Group (SHG) members, with the expertise required to excel in the Hand Embroidery sector. It focuses on empowering women with the skills to enhance livelihood opportunities while preserving traditional Hand embroidery.

Today was Day 5 of the Organic Grower (Agriculture) training program at Dehra, Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. A total of 30 candidates were present and actively participated in the training sessions. The program is being implemented under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme.
The training was conducted by Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam in amalgamation with the Department of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh with the objective of uplifting women from rural areas by enhancing their skills in organic agriculture.

*Commencement of Training Program*

It is with great pleasure that we announce the inauguration of the Assistant Beauty Therapist training program at Jawalaji, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. This initiative, undertaken by Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) in collaboration with the Department of Industries, is being implemented under the RAMP Scheme.

The program has commenced with the participation of 30 enthusiastic candidates, comprising women associated with Self-Help Groups from rural areas. The training is designed to augment the livelihood opportunities of these women, thereby contributing to their socio-economic empowerment.

On January 8, 2026, the RAMP project training commenced at Mahila Mandal Sadan Udaipur, District Lahaul & Spiti. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Zila Parishad Chairman, Smt. Veena Devi, who formally inaugurated the program. The training focuses on the job role of Assistant Pickle & Paste Making Technician, with 30 rural women candidates participating. Implemented by Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) and the DepartmentofIndustries, this initiative aims to empower rural women with new skills, enhancing their livelihood prospects and contributing to the local economy. This program is being organized by HPKVN and the Department of Industries, Himachal Pradesh, the event highlighted the importance of empowering rural women through skill development.
