JKRDS Holds Provincial Meeting in Srinagar, Emphasizes Social Responsibility and Anti-Drug Campaign
Mubarak Gul Calls for Strengthening Grassroots Units and Strict Implementation of 25-Point Programme
Srinagar, April 23, 2026: A meeting of the J&K Rural Development Society (JKRDS) Kashmir Province was held today at the Society’s Head Office, Press Colony, Residency Srinagar. The meeting witnessed the participation of office bearers and members from across the Kashmir Province.
Chairman JKRDS, Mubarak Gul, addressed the gathering and urged all members to strictly follow the Society’s 25-point programme in letter and spirit. He emphasized the need to strengthen organizational units across Kashmir and called upon members to actively engage with people at all social platforms. He further stressed the importance of coordinating with respective District Commissioners to support the Nasha Mukht J&K Abhiyan, highlighting that JKRDS has been consistently working against drug abuse for many years. He appreciated the Government’s recent initiatives in tackling this pressing issue.
Vice Chairman JKRDS, Adv Yunis Mubarak, in his address, encouraged members to remain accessible to the public, guide them effectively, and play a proactive role in addressing social evils at the grassroots level. He reiterated the importance of voluntary efforts in resolving community issues.
Provincial Chairman Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Khan, stressed the need to identify and induct respectable citizens with strong track records into the Society, ensuring that like-minded individuals contribute towards the noble cause of social service.
Several other prominent functionaries also spoke on the occasion, including General Secretary Mohammad Amin Tekka, Khwaja Mohammad Shafi, Mir Parvaiz Ahmad, Parveena Ji, Dilshada Ji, Mohammad Rafiq Khan, Abdul Majeed Akhoon, Gul Mohammad Ganie, Hilal Ahmad Chichi, and Mohammad Amin Peer, among others. They shared their views and suggestions on strengthening the Society’s outreach and enhancing its role in social welfare activities.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to intensify efforts in community service, strengthen grassroots engagement, and actively contribute towards building a drug-free and socially responsible society.
