Day two of the workshop was dedicated to meaningful engagement with the pastoralist community—in their own setting, listening to their experiences, traditional knowledge, and everyday challenges. The interactions reinforced a powerful message: sustainable grassland management is not possible without the active participation of pastoralists.
This approach strongly resonates with the spirit of the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP) 2026, which advocates inclusive, community-led governance of rangelands worldwide.
