A neglected child from a very poor family was categorized as Deaf and Dumb since childhood. Fortunately govt started a health programme called Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) for children and under that programme Dr MUHAMMAD YOUNIS BHAT and Dr FARZANA FAROOQ from zone S.R Gunj as Mobile Health Team visited a govt school where the child was screened and referred to Jlnm hospital Srinagar for specialist opinion. The child was advised for hearing aid and speech therapies. Now even at 15 years of age child showed remarkable progress which encouraged his teachers as well as parents to assist him for continuous speech therapies which bought hope and change to the life of their ward.
