State Climate Change Center J&K

State Climate Change Center J&K The Climate Change Center J & K is mandated with the responsibility of Research, Capacity building and public awareness in the field of Climate Change.

The center aims to strengthen its capacity as a single window repository of climate change. The State Climate Change Centre/Cell at Department of Ecology, Environment & Remote Sensing, J&K Government is a multi-stakeholder platform that coordinate with line departments on various missions. The State Climate Change Centre/Cell at Department of Ecology, Environment & Remote Sensing has been actively

involved in following activities:
1. Vulnerability Assessments at District Level using multiple socio-economic Indicators for prioritization of districts for taking up mitigation measures on priority basis.
2. Institutional Capacity building and R&D for data base/Information generation.
3. Training programs for stakeholders including Govt. officials, researchers, community-based organizations, media, etc.
4. Implementation of State Action Plan on Climate Change by assisting the line departments for preparation of Adaptation Projects
