Shocking Incident Reported at Govt. Middle School Krawah, Banihal

A shocking incident has been reported from Govt. Middle School Krawah in Banihal, Ramban district.

According to available information, a Class 7 student, Mehran Ahmad Chopan, son of Mohd. Shafi Chohan, reportedly remained locked inside a classroom after the school closed on 4 July 2026. It is alleged that the school premises were locked without ensuring that all students had left the building.

The student reportedly woke up around 8:00 pm after falling asleep in the classroom. Unable to get out, he remained trapped until local residents heard his cries for help at around 8:00 pm and alerted others.

In an interview after being rescued, Mehran spoke about his experience.

The incident has raised serious concerns about student safety and whether proper checks were carried out before locking the school. The matter warrants a thorough inquiry by the concerned education authorities to determine responsibility and ensure that such an incident is not repeated.
