a) Unambiguous stand on the right of the people of Jammu Kashmir to self determination. b) Uncompromising commitment to achieve this goal in light of basic human and moral values and the guidence provided by Islam was strongly felt. It was becoming all the more necessary because the parties lacked direction,dedication and dyn
amism to bring the nation out of despondency. Despite the sacrifices rendered by the masses, the shackles of Indian imperialism could not be broken and the occupying power benifitted from the mess on the political scene. The central consultative body of Jama'at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir decided to Join APHC headed by Syed Ali Geelani and also consented in favour of a new political organization( on the basis of division of work) that would struggle to achieve the goal with full support of the state wide organization of Jama'at. of August 2004 when this organization was launched under the banner of "Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir"

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir besides making peaceful endeavors to build individuals, society and a state on these solid basis shall strive to achieve for the people of Jammu Kashmir their fundamental right to self determination. This right is recognized by the United Nations through numerous UNSC resolutions. Indian Government and its first prime minister had promised this right on national and international level.Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir wants India to honor those commitments. Forcible occupation of Jammu Kashmir does not legitimise Indian presence in the U.N recognized disputed territory. The people of occupied territory have every moral, human and democratic right to bring this occupation to an end. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir is for a political and negotiated settlement of the issue provided that all the three parties(Kashmiris, India and Pakistan under UN supervision) sit across a table to resolve the issue in its historical perspective and do not waste their precious time in discussing peripheral issues. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir shall earnestly uphold the principles of communal harmony and solidarity with minority communities and shall welcome and support the return of Muslim muhajireen and minority migrants to the state so that they are the rightful owners of their property. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir shall not participate in any so called political process that gives legitimacy to Indian occupation,distorts the international character of the issue or undermines the supreme sacrifices of the Martyrs. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir shall welcome the support of all, irrespective of their caste, color, creed and nationality living outside the disputed territory.Its membership shall remain wide open for those who subscribe to its aims and objectives. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir shall work for the eradication of all sorts of expolitation in the name of politics,religion and liberalism and shall make efforts to build a society whose moto shall be "co-operation in all that is good and non co-operation in all that is evil"
Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir shall also work for the basic genuine social,economic,educational and developmental rights of the people and shall make organized efforts to realise the rights of the deprived. In furtherance of its noble objectives Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir shall support the dynamic elements from all schools of thought and sections of the society.It shall request the youth to come forward and play their positive and active role. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir shall not remain a silent spectator to the violation of human rights in other parts of the world.It shall be morally bound to raise voice in favour of the oppressed,against the oppressors. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir solemnly declares that it shall leave no stone unturned to realise the goal for which hundreds of thousands have laid their lives,women folk lost their chastity, men women and children were tortured and maimed,youth were killed in custody and in fake encounters and thousands remain disappeared and behind the bars. These sacrifices shall not be allowed to go waste. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir considers Jammu Kashmir the only impediment in the cordial relations between India and Pakistan. No bilateral talks between the two nuclear neighbours can yield any tangible results with out addressing the core issue of Jammu Kashmir. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir shall closely watch India's Kashmir policy in Indo-Pak talks and would press for the inclusion of Kashmiris as a basic party only when some ice is broken.No durable solution of Kashmir issue can be visualised with out the practical participation of the true representatives of struggling masses of Jammu Kashmir. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir expects from the conscioncious masses of India and the just people and Governments of the world to rise above their petty political and economic interests to support this human issue of self determination. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir emphasizes the need of United Nations to discharge its duties in the interest of deprived and subjugated people and the world peace and not to serve the interests of one or some powerful countries who have rendered this august world body to the status of a " Toothless Tiger". Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir appeals 57 members of the OIC, their people and heads of states and governments to play their much needed role to resolve the issues of the Ummah and not to play in the hands of those who have filled this world with tyranny, corruption and mischief.OIC needs to provide a model for development of an individual, society and the state through the implementation of Islamic system in the Muslim world. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir is indebted to the people and state of Pakistan for their moral, political and diplomatic support to the just cause of Kashmir and expects that they shall continue to express their solidarity even in the inhospitable international environment. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu & Kashmir shall neither accept any imposed solution nor any solution based on the sanctity of Cease Fire Line including one within the frame work of Indian constitution.
