The Planning and Development Department is interdisciplinary in nature and acts as a nodal agency to look after implementation of planning process in the state. The main objective of the Planning Department is to redress a

ll inter-regional and inter-district imbalances in developmental process and ensure equitable share of all regions/districts in speedy implementation of various developmental programs. The department is entrusted with very important assignments which mostly comprise of the formulation of annual plans, five year plans, mid term appraisals, project appraisals, conduct of evaluation studies, preparation of monitoring reports on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis, conduct of district developmental board meetings and maintaining active liaison with the Government of India, especially with the Planning Commission.

The result of the Preliminary objective type test for the posts of Assistant Director
(Statistics-cum-Evaluation) Service Competitive Examination-2013 which was held on
23.02.2014 is declared as per Annexure ‘A’ (visithttp://jkpsc.nic.in/pdf/RESULT_NOTIFICATION_AD_2014.pdf for Annexure ‘A’ )

On the basis of the result, the Cut off point works out to 60.00 for selection of candidates for the Main Examination.

Note I: The cut off marks is purely provisional and subject to eligibility in accordance
with the rule/verification of documents submitted by the candidates.Correction/Changes, if any, shall be notified separately.
Note II: The candidature of candidates is purely provisional.
Note III: The (Main) written examination is likely to be conducted in August-September,
2014. The detailed Date Sheet will be issued separately.

This is subject to the outcome of any writ petition pending disposal before any competent Court of Law on the Subject.

SYLLABUS OF PRELIMINARY OBJECTIVE TYPE TEST FOR THE
POSTS OF ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (STATISTICS)
NOTE: - If the Commission considers that the number of Application Forms received for admission is unduly large it may direct the candidates to appear in Preliminary Objective Type Test for shortlisting the candidates for Main Examination.

The syllabus for such Objective Type Test is given as under: -
The paper will include Multiple Choice Questions covering the following fields of
knowledge:
1. General Science
2. Current events of national and international importance, History of India.
3. World Geography.
4. Indian Polity and Economy.
5. Indian National Movement and also questions on General Mental Ability.

Questions on General Science will cover general appreciation and understanding of science, including matters of everyday observation and experience, as may be expected of a well educated person who has not made a special study of any
scientific discipline. In History, emphasis will be on broad general understanding of the subject in its social, economic and political aspects. In Geography, emphasis will be on Geography of India. Questions on the Geography of India will relate to physical, social and economic Geography of the country, including the main features of Indian agricultural and natural resources. Questions on Indian Polity and Economy will test knowledge on the country’s political system, panchayati raj, community development and planning in India. Questions on the Indian National Movement will relate to the nature and character of the nineteenth century resurgence, growth of nationalism and attainment of independence.

direct recruitment posts of Assistant Director (Statistics) in the pay scale of 9300-34800 + Grade Pay 4800 in accordance with SRO 207 dated 04.09.1992 as amended
from time to time, read with J&K Statistical cm Evaluation (Competitive Examination) Regulations issued vide Govt. Order No.299-PD of 1976 dated 04.12.1976 as amended
