State Level Causality Assessment of Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) was successfully conducted in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions under the chairpersonship of Dr. Poonam Sethi, Director, Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization, J&K.
In the Jammu division, the meeting was held in the Conference Hall of Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College Jammu. The meeting was attended by Dr. Sanjeev Digra, Head of Department Paediatrics; Dr. Rajiv Gupta, Head of Department Community Medicine; Dr. Shahid Hussain, SEPIO J&K; Dr. Arti Nayyer, Assistant Director Family Welfare Jammu; Dr. Azmat Khan, SMO WHO Jammu; Dr JB Singh, Physician, Department of Medicine; along with representatives from the Departments of Forensics, and Pharmacology of GMC Jammu. The Dy. CMOs/DIOs of the concerned districts also participated in the deliberations.
A similar meeting for the Kashmir division was convened in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization, J&K at Barzulla, Srinagar.. The meeting was attended by Dr. Arsalaan, Prof & Head FMT GMC Srinagar; Dr. Syed Sajad Hussain Asstt. Prof Pharmacology GMC Srinagar; Dr. Naqsheeba Aziz, Asstt. Prof Paediatrics GMC Srinagar ; Dr. Reyaz Nasir, Associate Prof Microbiology GMC Srinagar; Dr. S.M. Salim Khan (Prof & Head Community Medicine GMC Srinagar) and the Dy CMOs/DIOs of the concerned districts of Kashmir Division.
During the meetings, causality assessment severe and serious AEFI cases was carried out, and the cases were reviewed in detail and concluded based on expert consensus in accordance with standard protocols.
