A tragic road accident took place on Friday in the Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district after a school bus belonging to IPTS School Khansahib lost control and plunged into a deep gorge in the Neegu Jabbad area of Branwar. The bus driver died on the spot while two students onboard sustained injuries.
Soon after the accident, local residents along with personnel from the SOG Unit Surasyar led by Component Incharge M.S. Rathar and jawans of CRPF 181 Battalion Unit Surasyar rushed to the spot and immediately launched rescue operations. Local social activist Mushtaq Ahmad Lone and Raja Amir Khan. also actively participated in the rescue efforts.The injured students were immediately shifted to PHC Surasyar by a local youth, Mohammad Saleem, where they received first aid before being referred to Sub-District Hospital Chadoora. Later, both injured students were shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment, where they are currently undergoing treatment.Soon after the incident, SHO Chadoora Inspector Masroor Asgar, SDM Chadoora Primroz Bashir,CMO Budgam Dr.Gulzar Ahmad, and BMO Chadoora Dr.Riyaz Hussain also reached the accident site along with medical teams and emergency services personnel. Nearly a dozen ambulances remained present at the site to assist in the rescue and evacuation operation. social activist Mushtaq Ahmad Lone , strongly urge the District Administration of Budgam to immediately install crash guards on the Branwar Neegu Haijan Road in order to prevent further tragic accidents in the future.Today’s unfortunate accident is clear evidence that urgent safety measures are badly needed on this road. Immediate and serious action is necessary to protect precious human lives.
