Reduce, Reuse and Recycle - RRR is the new mantra of today's life. A time of pause is coming amidst the hustle and bustle of human life. Yes, RRR's initiative is bringing a lot of change in the practical life of common people. Reuse of common household items has been an integral part of Indian culture. Taking inspiration from this culture, people have turned back to their roots. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle is such a vibrant option through which people are not only making their homes garbage-free by giving the useless items lying in their homes to the RRR center, but are also using these items by giving them a new look and making life simple and worthwhile.
Mrs. Laxmi Sharma from Unnati Self Help Group of Municipal Corporation Solan formed under Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-Rashtriya Shehri Ajeevika Mission is working on this initiative of RRR. She make decorative items and products of daily use from unused items, such as:
Old plastic bottles:The plastic bottles which are thrown by the people are converted to beautiful decorative item with some work of clay on them.
Old Torn Clothes: The small pieces of cloths which are of no use to the tailor, the beneficiaries collect them and with that they make colourful laundry bags.
Old jeans and rope: With the help of unused or torn jeans and rope Unnati SHG create something which people cannot even think of such as ladies purse, which is gaining popularity with the college going girls.
MC Solan is glad to share her story and exceptional qork under the Naari Leads Swachhta program under Swachh Bharat Mission.
