Under the aegis of BSF North Bengal , Combined Hospital SHQ Siliguri & 130 Bn hosted a Mega Medical Camp on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026 under initiative. Families of BSF personnel and civilian, received specialist care, including cervical cancer screenings & eye exams. By shifting from awareness to actionable medical intervention, the event set a new benchmark for community wellness and preventative care.

On International Women's Day, members of BWWA, North Bengal Frontier led by Smt Alka Tyagi donated daily use items, ration and essential goods to the girls of the Blind School at Bidhan Nagar, embodying the theme "𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐧"

On 11th December 2025, a Civic Action Programme was organised by 18 Bn BSF under the aegis of North Bengal Frontier at BOP Murikhawa. Representatives of local bodies, villagers and schoolchildren attended the programme, where school bags, sports items, RO plant, utensils and various essential items were distributed among the border population.
Sh. Mukesh Tyagi, IG BSF, addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of stronger coordination between BSF and border residents. He also assured all possible support to the local populace.

On 10th Dec 2025, troops of North Bengal Frontier apprehended one Indian national along with 3,150 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup worth ₹6,57,436/- from the border area of Dakshin Dinajpur (W.B.).
The BSF remains steadfast in its duty to prevent cross-border smuggling.

On 9th Dec 2025, troops of North Bengal Frontier seized 525 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup and 2000 Nos of Tapentadol tablets from border areas of Dakshin Dinajpur. In another operation, BSF apprehended one Indian tout in Uttar Dinajpur while he was trying to smuggle 29 liquor bottles into Bangladesh. He was later handed over to PS Kaliyaganj.
BSF stands firm against cross-border smuggling.

On 4th Dec 2025, Sh Mukesh Tyagi, Inspector General, Border Security Force (BSF), North Bengal Frontier, interacted with members of the prestigious media houses during a “Meet the Press” event, highlighted the Frontier’s operational achievements, current challenges and ongoing initiatives to strengthen border security in the area of responsibility under North Bengal Frontier.
IG praised all the media houses for their continuous support and projecting positive image of BSF though their news on electronic, print as well as on social media and also, wishes to maintain such rapport in future.

On 3rd Dec, 2025, alert troops of the North Bengal Frontier foiled an exfiltration attempt, apprehending a Bangladesh national from border area of Distt. Dakshin Dinajpur. In another operation, seized 271 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup and 100 strips of Tapentadol tablets along the Indo–Bangladesh border.
This successful operation underscores the BSF’s relentless commitment to curbing cross-border smuggling and safeguarding the nation from the menace of illegal trade.
