Govt Boys’ School Principal Blames Phone Addiction, Lack Of Parental Support For Poor HSLC Result
Following the dismal HSLC 2026 results, in which only 1 out of 29 students passed from Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, the school principal, Parbin Sultana Laskar, has attributed the poor performance to excessive mobile phone use and a lack of cooperation from parents.
Speaking on the issue, Laskar said that many students are addicted to mobile phones, which has significantly affected their studies. She also alleged that parents and guardians failed to support the school’s efforts, particularly by not ensuring students attend the additional classes arranged by the institution.
“We arranged extra classes for students, but many did not attend. There is also very little cooperation from parents,” she said, adding that without collective effort, improving results will remain a challenge.
The school recorded a pass percentage of just 3.45%, drawing attention across the district amid Cachar’s overall poor performance in the HSLC examination this year.
