SDF MLA candidate, Shri Laxuman Sharma is not a new face for Gyalshing Bermiok Constituency. He has been closely connected with the people of his constituency since SDF party was formed. He was always there with the party as a sincere party worker and never turned back from carrying out his responsibilities assigned to him by the party. He was always there as a sincere, friendly, serious and constructive party leader and equally loyal to Hon'ble Party presidents, Shri Pawan Chamling and his senior members and loving to the junior members. He has the capablity to give the leadership embracing all sections of society irrespective of caste, creed, gender, religion and status so that considering his these nature, definitely he was chosen to be the candidate for our Gyalshing Bermiok Constituency. He wants to lead his constituency in a new direction that focuses mainly on the values of a future- oriented vision for young people, which still remains a challenge.

He urges people to fill their hearts with love for the state and not to hate people. This human nature, he says it's the beginning for real development, without which everthing seems incomplete.

Now all the parties have declared their respective candidates for forthcoming general election, We wish all of you a very best of luck. In our eyes you all are already winners, as taking part in a contest is itself a success. This time we specially the public of Gyalshing bermiok Constituency are very fortunate that we have got One very efficient candidates Shri Laxmun Sharma from prominent political parties of Sikkim, I.e. (SDF ) We are also firm that whoever wins election, victory would be ours (people of our constituency).
My dear leader as we all are aware about the fact that our constituency is deprived in some aspects as compare to other constituencies, we urge you are to work in an inclusive way (by putting aside your differences after election) for the growth and development of our region.
We also want to highlight some of our personal suggestions/demand which requires immediate attention from your esteem end after election :
1. Opening of a Primary Health Centre at Bermiok Bazar. Since health is the right of every individual and we lack timely (long distance) access of basic health care facility, We on behalf of General public people of Bermiok request you to work on establishing Primary Health Centre at Bermiok Bazar.
2. Establishment of nationalize bank branches. As now a days one of the important tool in our day to day life is access of appropriate banking services ,banks really help to bring marginal people in the mainstream ,unfortunately we lack bank branches in our area (specially at Bermiok ) So, I desperately request you to work on establishment of different bank branches.
3. Alternative source of income and employment. In our eyes Tadong-joubari is one of the unexplored tourist destination in our region, if proper infrastructure is develop then definitely it will bring alternative sources of income and employment,
4. We all know that Education is the most powerful we open which can use to change our society for betterment ,so I request you all, lets us focus on establishing goods schools and colleges in our place.

Pelling Sr Sec. School awarded Excellent School in the country in Individual Catagory (Air): 1st Position in Air Category under Green School Programme

Gangtok, February 07, 2019: Green School Programmes (GSP) is a self-assessment programme. It helps schools audit their use of resources and map their consumption and wastage. The exercise involves collection of information under the following heads like Food, Waste, Air, Land, Energy and Water.
This year, 5360 schools registered for the GSP Audit from all across the country. Of these, 1689 schools submitted their completed audit reports to Centre for Science and Environment (CSE). This points to an 85 per cent jump in registrations and 42 per cent jump in audit report submissions.
The awards have been given on the basis of a detailed assessment for the different practices in the areas of rainwater harvesting, energy efficiency, mobility, proportion of green cover in school, waste management, water management, sanitation standards and availability of healthy food among other things.
Twelve schools out of the 35 shortlisted were presented awards in different categories. Among the top winners of the 2018-19 awards are 2 schools from Tamil Nadu and one each from Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and Maharashtra.
Awards in Individual Categories: These awards recognize best practices in individual categories of the GSP Audit 2018. The winners are:
1. FOOD category: Good Earth School, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu
2. WASTE category: New Digamber Public School, Indore, Madhya Pradesh
3. AIR category: Government Senior Secondary School, Pelling, West Sikkim
4. LAND category: Kendriya Vidyalaya, Upper Camp, Cantt Dehradun, Uttarakhand
5. ENERGY category: Kendriya Vidyalaya WCL, New Majri, Maharashtra
6. WATER category: Mahindra World School, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu
Based on the country-wide assessment of Green Schools Environment Audit Programme 2018-19 coordinated in the State by ENVIS Centre of the State Forest Department in collaboration with the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi, CSE in its annual awards giving ceremony held at Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 6th February, 2019 has conferred upon to GSSS Pelling in the air Category. Govt SSS Pelling was awarded the 1st position in air category at the National Level. The award was handed over by Mrs Sunita Narain, Director General of CSE. The event witnessed participation from more than 250 children and teachers apart from media, state partners from environment and education departments, academicians and civil society members.
